Samsung r730 display is not working but i plug a external screen then the external screen works
Look along the function keys for one that looks like two squares with a line between them if you have that press it until your display switches to LCD only (if you want to extend choose extend)
if you don't have this then use your external monitor.
now right click on the desktop and go to screen resolution and then change which of the two displays it uses as the default
SOURCE: hello, i have a samsung
If it is working through the HDMI port, then it does suggest that it is probably the monitor or ribbon cable/connection that is at fault.
Please leave favorable feedback if this has helped you.
Thank you

You may need a new lamp. You can find them at EBay rather inexpensive and replace the lamp to your laptop located in the screen portion you will have to remove the rubber plugs and screws then pop the seal plastic off and you will see the part looks like a long thin peace of plastic with two plugs installed one on one side and the other is on the other side they unplug, replace the lamp and you should be fine good to go.
If you have never done this before I suggest a neighborhood computer repair shop handle this. Or if under warranty by all means take it in. John
SOURCE: samsung r730 wireless problem
Does it show you any wireless networks (routers) when you select View
Available Wireless Networks? If not maybe you don't have the wireless
switch on the laptop turned on. Maybe you don't have your wireless turned on. Look on
both sides and in front for the Wireless Switch and turn it on.
Also once the wireless switch is turned on there are keystrokes that can toggle
the wireless on or off. Normally you would Press and Hold the FN function
key located at the lower left of the keyboard, then hit the correct F1 thru F12
key that toggles the wireless. The correct F1 thru F12 key to hit will
have the wireless signal icon )))) on it. Or it might have the icon of a tower
with the wireless signal icon )))). Normally the screen will display
Wireless On or Wireless Off when you toggle the wireless.
If you can see other wireless networks but not your own, then just go
near your router with the laptop and see if it detects it. If not, you
might not have the router configured for wireless. Can other laptops in
the house see your wireless network? If so, then it is configured
correctly.
There are two ways on which you can get on your wireless network. One
way is to use the wireless software that came with the wireless
adapter. The other way is to allow windows to control the wireless
called (Zero Config). Whichever one you are using, try switching to the
other to see if it picks up your wireless network. If you are using
the software that came with the adapter when you open it you will see an
option somewhere that will allow you to let windows control the
wireless (zero config). Select it and try seeing it windows picks up
the wireless signal from your router. Likewise if you are using windows
(zero config) switch to the software that came with the adapter and
look through it for an option that will say something like "Use this
tool to manage the wireless". Select it and see if your network is
picked up.
If you still don't see any wireless networks and the router is ok I
would say your wireless card inside the laptop is not working properly.
Turn the laptop off, remove the power cord, remove the battery then
remove the cover that houses the wireless card on the bottom of the
laptop. Remove the two antennas (black and white cable) from the
wireless card (remember where they go). Then remove the screws if any
so that you can remove the wireless card from the slot. Wait 30
seconds, then put it all back together and see if just reseating the
wireless card fixes your problem. Sometimes the wireless card might be
located under the keyboard and palmrest.
