I bought all new cables, i replaced my stereo... even went as par as getting another amp which i returned because i had the exact problem as before. I have a Pioneer GM X862 car amp, with a constant red light on it. Also, it is supplying the subs with power, they are lightly vibrating but its not pushing like it should. No bass.

Make sure your power line comes directly from the battery and that iyt has no abrasions or cuts in it. Check your ground and make sure that it has a good connection to the vehicle chasis. Ensure that the remote line is connected properly to the remote lead from your head unit/receiver.

Common mistakes in this area are using the remote turn on lead as a power lead. It does not have near enough power to drive the amp so you will only get a slight trickle of power.

Good luck!

Subwoofer pulses

amp is probably bad. i call this "motor boating". especially if it is a constant pulse. 9 times out of 10 the amp is the problem with this. rarely is the radio the problem.

No sound from amp

THIS IS AN EASY FIX. DISCONNECT THE POWER WIRE FROM BATTERY. REMOVE THE GROUND WIRE FROM THE CARS BODY. SAND ALL THE PAINT AWAY FROM THAT AREA. WIPE IT CLEAN WITH A DRY CLOTH AND HOOK THE GROUND BACK UP. THEN RECONNECT THE POWER WIRE AND THAT SHOULD FIX IT. IF NOT THEN TURN DOWN UR GAIN CAUSE THE AMP IS OVER HEATING

Red light on my amp?

Does the amp power up normally if you disconnect the speaker wires from the speaker terminals of the amp?

It's never a good thing to blindly short across a power source.

No bass at higher volume

Your battery should be fine! Although the amp might not be strong enough for the sub. All you can do is check the RCA cables from your radio to your amp as these might vibrate loose when you get to 17 volume and also check the monster cable from your amp to your sub asit might have vibrated loose as well.
