Acer wireless adapter won't word

I have tried everything, but my adapter won't detect any networks.  It is enabled, and I have tried uninstalling and then reinstalling.  Usually you can see about 10 different neighboring networks, as well as my own. But now it won't detect any.  The ethernet adapter works fine and can connect to the router with a cord and works great, but the wireless is not working.  Have tried everything, should I look to get an expresscard, or can I fix it?  When I check details on the adapter, it says it is working great and enabled.  Go Figure.  I need help!
