Question about Toshiba gigabeat S MP3 Player

1 Answer

Contents list I have had some problems (mostly operator error) with losing all my songs on my gigabeat MES30VW. It takes me about 5 hours to reload the songs, playlists etc as I don't want to add everything in my WMP library to my gigabeat. (My wife and I share a computer and don't exactly have the same tastes in music.) Is there a fairly easy way to make a listing that I can store on my notebook pc of what I have on my gigabeat. I don't have enough HD space to allow me to back up the data to reload.

Re: contents list

Create a playlist of the songs you want. You will still be able to browse by the other categories like artist, album, etc...

Toshiba gigabeat meu202 will not delete files

Try deleting your files this way.

Deleting Files,Pictures,Videos,Audio
Books, Apps,etc. from MP3 Player/Ipod
Hook up your mp3 player to your computer
Go to your desktop and double left click on "My Computer"
When it opens you will see listing that says "Devices with Removal Storage" your mp3 player should be listed there.
Right click on your mp3 player, and a window will open, right click on "Open" and now your files/songs should be visible.
Hold the left click down and drag it across all the files/songs that you do not want this will highlight the files/songs you do not want, release, right click and then click on "Delete"
Now you mp3 player should be clear of the files/songs you do not want.
BE CAREFUL and do not delete files needed to operate your MP3 player.

I need to reset the entire program on the f40. System settings and all

The EASY but Time consuming way (If you Only hagve USB 1), is to just RESET the unit.
The manual will run you through it, and reload.
I have both Gigabeat Room, and Win/Player 11, and have reset and reloaded a few times.
Just take some time (Specially with Gig Room)
Good Luck

File transfer Problem

Ok, I figured out a solution on my own.

Remarkably simple - all I did was reformat the player again and then reinstall windows media player.

Although in my travels I came across an article which may help users with a similar problem:

Driver files for Toshiba Gigabeat MES30VW

Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard

My gigabeat says system error

hello all my gigabeat f20 had that system error 00000010 on it so i removed the top and bottom cap, then i removed the rear cover off the unit (it takes a bit of force and the end caps just pull off). i noticed the long plug attaching the hard drive to the unit had semi-detached so i simply pushed it back on.NOW ITS FIXED!!!!!

Gigabeat has froze completely

Turn off the battery with a toothpick or pencil then turn it back on. You can do this on the bottom side.
