Question about Honda Pressure Washer PSI 3000

1 Answer

It won't stay running

Would not start, cleaned out fuel bowl nothing in it. can dump gas in carb will start for moment pressure washer will run as long as I continue to spray starter fluid in carb. As soon as I stop, the motor stops. I changed the gas, and also pulled the screw on the bottom part of the carb to see if gas continues to flow through carb - it does so it seems like the carb is getting gas from the tank okay. Can't figure out why motor will not stay running. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks! Do I just take it off, and spray and wipe it down with aerosole carb cleaner, or is there some other simple cleaning process that I should do?

The washer has only been used twice over two years and didn't get used at all last year so it does not surprise me that the carb would be gummed up. Especially when I didn't winterize it or anything.

You need to either clean the carb really good (take it apart) or rebuild it or both. Sounds like your needle is gummed up and not letting fuel through.

When I move the choke to run the motor dies....even after 30 minutes of running.

No, but it sounds if the carb needs to be cleaned! Fresh fuel helps too. Check the spark plug and check the breather filter. Also you can crank the engine with the breather filter off and try to move the choke to run then. If it runs with the filter off then there is your problem! 1 question, has anyone try to work on it or adjust the carb in any way?

Brigs n straton pressure washer won t stay running unless you put or keep starting fluid in in

Loosen the carb bowl nut until it begins leaking into the shallow clear glass bowl you placed beneath it. It may take a minute to have drained the water out of the bowl and another minute or so to get some more from the gas tank. With the glass bowl you will be able to see the water in the bottom and gas floating on top of it. When you see the gas on top then tighten the bowl nut and try to crank. (Choking helps draw out water still in carb) Return gas collected. to tank but do not let the water go back in.

My honda gx160 5.5 hp will only stay running if i slowly pour gas into the carb. Carb was rebuilt motor running fine last week. Put away and now wont stay running.

here is your problem, first shut off the fuel valve right underneath there is a small settlement cup that can be removed with a 10 mm wrench, once removed reopen the valve just to see if gas is flowing if not your strainer in fuel tank is clogged and can be cleaned.if you do then shut fuel valve off and remove the fuel bowl using the same wrench inside the stem there are two parts the jet and the tube, both need to be cleaned use a small screwdriver to remove the jet the tube may be stuck so maybe a small wood screw can help you remove it

Have a Speed Clean 2000 PSI Pressure Washer with B&S 3.75 Enigine that will not stay running. The unit will start and run for 30-45 seconds then stops. Can keep the engine running a little longer if I

the problem is with the carb. not able to keep enough fuel going into the float bowl to support engine staying running. could be hose off gas tank clogged or petcock, coud be main jet sticking closed or float level out of adjsutment.

It won't run and dumps fuel.I've dipped thecarburetor and cleaned it well.the fuel just runs out the lower spring covered house that dumps out onto the ground

The problem is a bit of trash is preventing the float needle from closing fully to stop the flow of gas. Try this; drain the float bowl then close the drain and turn on the gas. Tap the float bowl solidly with the end of a screwdriver handle. The object is to free up the float / shake loose the trash. If doing that a couple of times does not fix the problem, Remove the float bowl and spray the interior of the carb using spray carb cleaner. Pay special attention to the float pin area. With the float bowl off you should be able to gently lift and lower the float. Lifting should shut off the gas and lowering should let the gas flow again. If the float shuts off the gas when raised, put the float bowl back in place and see if the carb still over fills. If so, then the float is defective and you will need a new one. Will not stay started Runs for about 1 minute

fuel issue. probably has junk in the carb bowl that gets sucked up when the machine start. You might be able to get away with just taking the bowl off and dumping it out (you will see it there is junk in there. then dump out the gas thats in it and put fresh gas in. Ideally you should clean up your carb which is not that difficult. an air compressor on very low pressure will provide some assistance (10-20 PSI)

Craftsman eager-1 3.75 mower will not stay running

the engine is not getting enough gas. when you hold down the primer you are bypassing this problem. to fix this simply adjust the carb's fuel screw, located on the side of carb, a little at a time until runs smoothly.
