White streaks in print outs

Along the left side of my documents, there's a streak where no black ink is printing.  Colored in shows up fine in the same place and the rest of the document looks fine.  I've replaced the Color and Black PCU in the past few months.

Check transfer roller, or change black cartidge, if it only happens to the black then there is something wrong with that part of the process.

When we attempt to print it leaves black streak marks. At first it printed all black and when we went to setup under maintainence we chose alignment and clean cartridges. This worked however we still see...

If an inkjet printer gives white streaks where it should be black, it means the ink is very low, or there is dirt under the nozzles preventing it from printing properly, or, in the case of non original cartridges, ink might be leaking which prevents the bubbles of ink to squirt onto the page.

If the streaks are black where it should be white, is sounds like some dust or fluff below the cartridge leaves ink smears on the page.

When I make copies or transmit a fax, it makes a 3/4" black line down the left side. I have cleaned ink cartridges and contacts but does not help.

The line is probably not from the ink cartridges or nozzles (assuming regular printing doesn't streak). Streaks on copies and transmitted faxes are usually due to dirt or problems on the scanner unit. First clean the flat bed of the scanne. If you have an automatic document feeder, clean that.

Clean with a lint free cloth moistened with a little water or glass cleaner. Make sure no foreign objects are in the ADF path or on the glass. For pictures see the Lexmark support site: http://support.lexmark.com/index?page=product&linkSelected=node0&locale=EN&userlocale=EN_US#1. Then enter "streak on copy" - the solution comes up in a pop up.

If the streak is shrinking, then copy a blank white piece of paper to identify where to clean further. Try scanning another page with a small mark on it. (These are particularly helpful for cleaning the ADF.)

If the mark occurs when you print, then check if you have a damaged cartridge or other ink that has spilled inside the printer.

I hope this helps.

We have recently bought a second hand OKI C5200 Colour Laser Printer and even though the black and white print seems to be great the clour is coming out with coloured streaks, what would you recommend?

One or more of the drums may be defective. Swap the black with another color and print a document. If that color printed the charectors ok, then continue the test with the other drums each taking a turn in the Black drum position until you find the bad drum.

My Olympus P400 Printer comes out with streak on the left side

If a hard reset of printer electronics does not restore proper operation there may be an inherent defect in the unit causing this.

What is causing black streak

You should try changing the toner cartridges first. There may be something stuck in it causing the noise and streaking
