Question about HP OfficeJet d145 InkJet Printer

Ihave new cartiages and printer is not printing documents.

I have replaced cartiagtes and ink is not going through ink heads. i have a hp officejetd145 all in one. what is wrong? is it because i have been without ink for a while. what do i do now/

Have you removed the pull off tape from top of cartridge?

I have a HP Office Pro L7580, model #C8187A. I am getting white horizontal lines across my documents. The white lines appear about every two to three inches. The top portion of the letters are missing


The black print head has a few blocked nozzles.
Inkjet printers need to be used frequently to prevent ink drying out and blocking the print head nozzles.
If the print head cleaning maintenance routine does not clear the blockages, then print head needs replacing, but it may be expensive.
It may be more cost effective to buy a later model and better printer than replace the print head.

My HP Officejet pro K550 is only printing the first few lines of my document, then it just stops, does not even return the paper???


This is normal for this model of HP printer when the ink has 'expired'.
Normally it will print one line from the print head, then check to see if the ink is okay before pumping more ink into the printhead. If it has expired then it pauses in the middle of printing to give the user an opportunity to replace the ink cartridge with a new one, highlight which cartridge needs replacing by lighting and indicator over the 'bad' cartridge.

There are three solutions for this:
  1. Buy a new HP Ink cartridge;
    expensive and innefficient, but it will ensure the highest level of quality and continued warranty for your HP printer. And is the least likely to cause problems.

  2. Buy a third-party "refillable" ink cartridge, or MOD chip;
    Less expensive, but still wastes what remaining ink you have in that ink cartridge. Voids the warranty for your HP printer and can lead to a print head clog.

  3. Set your system clock and print like it's 1999;
    Silly printer driver reads the system time to determine if it has expired; will cause the printer log to be inaccurate, and cause problems with software updates, security certificates and other time-sensitive applications. May requirie shutting down both PC and printer simultaneously to be effective.

  4. Crack/Patch or replace the printer driver to remove expiry;
    3rd party replacement drivers are unable to match the resolution of HP's original drivers because they don't know HP's secret PCL codes. Cracking/Patching HP drivers may be illegal depending on where you live and what security clearance you have. It may also possibly sometimes break features like document control and printer logging.

  5. Buy another printer
    Expensive and wasteful.
I'd reccommend option 3 if not for the fact that there is no publically availble patch anywhere on the internet. However... you can make any choice you please.

Can't print


Weather you use color or not the system is tied togeather to use them both. A laser printer however would have been the best choice for you if you did not want color. However weather you use color or not the printhead in this unit is daisy chained thus the printer will not start without the color cartridge due to print head damage that can be caused by a dry print head.

If both cartridges are empty its because you have used color at one point.

Cartiage jam nothing is in or on the cartiage no paper nothing what is going on it printed a couple of pages then started with the message


disconnected the power cable from the back of the printer
press and hold the power button for 20-30 seconds
reconnect the power cable back to the printer
if you still see the message follow the document :

if you still get the same error

Hp photosmart c4580 (new) is not printing bottom line of page, also not printing centrally it misses words down the right hand side connected to advent windows vista can you help


Try printing a test page, if the problem appears there too, it could be a print head problem. But try a new ink cartridge first, to make sure that's not whats defective.

Since it's new, you should consider exchanging it while you can.

Command do not delete


compltely switch off the computer and start again the command will then be delete. your suggestion is too costly to pay.

Problem printing with HP Business inkjet 1200


I have a HP Business Inkjet 1220 Printer, and the block ink cartridge light is flashing. I replaced the cartridge with a brand new one, closed the door, and black ink light is still flashing. I put in another neew black ink cartridge, closed the door, and same issue- black cartidge ink light flashing. I cannot print- what to do?

Cleaning the printer head?


print heads are built into the ink cartridges on HP's. I currently have this problem with another hp model. I appears that the firmware is stuck in what is called 'econo mode' and won't come out of it. good luck. sorry not more help.
