Ps3 wont connect controller

My ps3 shows a screen that says "CONNECT THE CONTROLLER USING A USB CABLE, AND THEN PRESS THE PS BUTTON." I have tried this and all it doesn is blink. Does anyone have any idea how to connect it? I have to ps3's so the controller works fine on my other system. For some reason it will not connect. Could it be a blue tooth problem? Thank you!

The controller doesn't work plugged in or on bluetooth. I have two ps3 systems and the controller works fine on my other system. It has to be something wrong with my system.

Try plugging you PS3 into a different socket in your house. MY Fat PS3 power and eject buttons dont work and remotes dont sync. Reason was the wall socket wasnt grounded well. every other socket in the house all the above work fine...

SOURCE: My controller will not connect on my ps3.

Sounds like the controller knows it belongs to the other PS3. It has already "paired" with one console, so that's why you're having a hard time trying to get it to pair with console #2, comprende?
Make sure console #1 is a "hard off", like switched in the back. Now flip your controller over & put a pencil or pen tip in the reset hole. ( Just to the right of the center screw hole.) NOW connect said controller with the USB to console #2. Hold the PS button for two seconds. All 4 lights will flash 5 times, then the 1 light should stay on, Boo-ya! You're PAIRED!

As soon I I turn on ps3 the screen says connect the controller using a USB cable, then press the ps button. No home screen or anything it seems like it's frozen

This screen is the reset/recovery screen, you can make this occur manually, with the system in standby hold down the power button until you hear 2 beeps.

If you connect a controller using the USB cable can you continue? when you connect a controller and press the PS button it should take you to this screen?

Tip

Sync a ps3 controller to a diffrent ps3

Using a PS3 controller charge cable (the cable that connects your controller to a USB port on a PS3), connect the PS3 controller to the console you wish to sync it with. With the cable still inserted, press the PS button in the center of the ps3 controller. The lights on the PS3 controller will flash for a moment, and then a controller number will be assigned to the new controller.Your PS3 controller is now synced to the console, and you can unplug the charge cable. Repeat these steps when you want to sync your controller with a different console. If you ever need to reset the Bluetooth connection of a PS3 controller entirely, locate the small pinhole on the back of the controller. By using a paper clip or other thin object to press the button inside this pinhole, you can reset your controller and its Bluetooth connection.

Ps3 remote wont work

you can try to reset the power switch in the back with the ps3 controller connect via the usb cable.
After you turn main switch in the rear on try using the controller's "PS" button to power on the system. If this does not work then power on the console using the button in front then use the PS button to sync....watching the top of the controller for recognition.

IF YOU ARE HAVING A PROBLEM WITH YOUR PS3 THE LAST THING TO DO IS TO TRY AND BOOT INTO DIAGNOSTIC SCREEN AND CHOOSE "RESTORE PS3 SYSTEM" or "REBUILD FILE SYSTEM". This can erase all saved data but is a good starting point for problem solving your PS3 before sending it to me for repair :-)

Cant connect my ps3 control to any ps3

do you have the USB cable that connects the controller to the ps3, ( it looks like this: http://tech2.in.com/media/images/2007/May/img_5948_usb_cable_450x360.jpg ) its used for charging if you're more familiar with that method.

First make sure the controller you want to connect is TURNED OFF, then simply connect the controller to the ps3 using the USB cable then press the PS button in the middle of your controller, it should work
