Hoover Windtunnel Hello! I had to change the flat belt on my vaccum and now the belt won't stay on. I can replace it, use the vaccum, then the next time the belt comes off. Is there something I did not do right? Thanks for your help! Jennfer

Re: Hoover Windtunnel

Your belt may be twisted inside-out. Be sure the printed marks on the belt face away from the pulleys and shaft. The printing should face you.

Hello--How about the Flat belt? That would be my next step...then, if it's still not turning, perhaps the beater/agitator bar's bearings are the culprit...calling for a new beater bar /agitator.

Hope this helps--

Im having trouble getting thewide flat belt in place on my windtunnel

We have recorded a very helpful do it yourself video on this exact problem. The belt change on a Hoover Windtunnel Self-Propelled is common repair that we see probably more frequently then any other repair. This is badly designed belt system by Hoover, and the way it's designed most people have to replace the belts at least on a yearly basis. The video below will show you exactly how to replace the belt, as well as how to maintain the roller brush to prolong the life of the belt as much as possible.

Here's the video:

It sounds like your vacuums belt is stretched and worn. You'll need to replace it. Below is a link to a website that gives instructions with pictures on how to change the belt. You should be able to get a replacement belt at any department store or vacuum retailer.
I hope this helps you.

The belt on my hoover will not stay on. It falls

Okay. I would suggest that you have a problem with your roller brush. If the roller becomes clogged with hair/debris, the bearings will sieze, and sometimes even melt the plastic. the roller then has a difficult time turning and will break the belt. If the belt is slipping off, I would suggest that you either have a worn belt, the wrong belt, Or, your "windtunnel" (the half cylindrical insert the roller sets in) is missing. this insert has a "belt guide" that keeps your belt aligned. hope this helps!!!

Belt will not stay on hoover windtunnel s3765

The Hoover Windtunnel™ Self-Propelled models have two belts, a flat belt and the V-Belt. This V-Belt is the one that drives the Brush Roller. After about three months, most belts stretch out causing them to slip. This means the brushroll turns slower or not at all and the self-propelled becomes increasingly harder to push. It is recommended that both belts should be changed at the same time.

Put the V belt on the pulley first, then the flat belt, put it over the motor shaft or pulley, then you have to stretch it to go over the pulley next to the V belt pulley.
