Question about JVC HD-52FA97 HDTV

1 Answer

JVC HD52FA97 PC input won't fill screen.

I have a jvc HD52FA97. I am trying to hook up my pc as a media computer to the tv. For some reason, it always appears as though the computer screen is "zoomed out"... there is a black rectangle around the picture and I can't seem to get the desktop to occupy the entire screen of the T.v.. I have tried to adjust the screen position, but all that did center the desktop. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Check your manual to see what it says about picture aspect for PC input.  My Panasonic looks the same way that you describe and the manual says it is supposed to look that way for PC input.

Can you hook a JVC lt-42x579 tv up to your pc for netflix

It should be as simple as taking an HDMI cable (if your computer has an HDMI output) or VGA (monitor) cable and hooking it into the TV. From there, go to Control Panel and Display Settings, and click which option you want for the TV screen under "Connect my PC to a projector."

I can't a full image on my toshiba 37RV25R

That's mighty vague of you. What input are you using? Is your source material's aspect ratio 16:9? There are a lot of things to consider. For some reason, though, I get the feeling that you're trying to hook the TV to your computer...

The maximum resolution supported by the TV's PC (15-pin D-sub) input is S-XGA (1280x1024 -- an aspect ratio of 5:4). The 37RV525R's native resolution is 1920x1080, though, an aspect ratio of 16:9. Obviously, you'll want to use a compatible (16:9) resolution. The TV would probably be happiest with 1280x720 @ 60Hz (a.k.a. "720p"). I've read that the TV will accept 1366x768 @ 60Hz but I'd just use 720p and call it done.

The differences between 1080p and 720p are barely discernible on a screen this size (especially if you're watching from across the room). No matter what input you're using, the source must have an aspect ratio of 16:9 or it will not be accurate and full-screen on the 37RV525R.

Common issue I have come across when using any TV as a PC monitor. Best workaround i found is just dont change inputs or reboot the PC and the tv will pick it back up.

Downloading problems - distortion???

I have my pc hooked up to my hdtv via vga cable and the video playback is as good as it is if i were to playback from camera through hdmi ,my screen resolution is 1360x768 which is slightly higher than standard hd but lower than full hd but honestly I doubt you could tell the difference.....ps if you have a graphics card that supports 1920x1080p and obviously the tv also, you dont need hdmi out on pc......vga cable does the same job! im running an nvidia 8800gtx
