Unplug the USB port when it is not in use. It will also save the battery which die quickly if left plugged in to PC.

Press the button on the back of the mouse to free the battery cover on top.

Remove the battery cover and put the supplied AA battery into the mouse.

Replace the battery cover.

Insert the wireless USB dongle into a USB port on the laptop or desktop computer.

Move the mouse and watch your computer screen.

Confirm that the mouse is connected by making the cursor move.

Hope this helps

My Microsoft wireless mobile mouse 3000 isn't responding, both the lights are on (the receiver and mouse) but its not tracking on my laptop screen. I tried re-syncing it buy not luck. I also tried...

Make sure there is nothing touching the trackpad on the laptop, as that will stop the mouse functioning correctly.

You could also try attaching the receiver to a different USB port on the laptop, to make sure it isnt a dead USB port.

Lastly, you could try downloading and re-installing the drivers from http://support.microsoft.com/kb/258785

The cheapest and easiest way to add USB sockets is with a Hub. It's like a powerboard for USB, it changes one connection to four (usually, but you can get bigger ones). They come in different shapes as seen below.

You should be able to buy one of these for less than $20. If you're using a laptop, you'll be better off getting one with a power adaptor rather than using power from the laptop.

Hello you should have a transmitter pluged into a usb port on your computer,There may be a button you need to push and hold down for a few seconds on this unit.there may also be a small hole on the bottom of your mouse you can push with the tip of a pencil. Doing this will reconnect your mouse to the computer. If this fails unplug the transmitter from the computer and shut it down reconnect it and restart the computer.

Microsoft mobile mouse 3000, usb flashes green and mouse lags.

This is probably a way for the mouse to conserve battery power when it has been idle for a while. Is there any software that was installed for the mouse. If so check and see if there is any settings that would cause this like a sleep mode ect.
