Remove the two phillips head screws holding the side panel , they are located on the back of the computer. after removing the screws, the side panel slides back , then lifts off.
make sure you unplug the computer and touch something metal to discharge any static electricity you might be carrying, before you install the memory.

Compaq Presario CQ50-215NR The computer has a beeping sound like a car alarm. while to Operrating system is running. It wont stop beeping

Hello.

The most common reason for this problem is memory. They could be slightly loose or faulty.

Disconnect all cables. Flip over the laptop and unlock and remove the battery.

Remove the memory cover. Remove and reinsert (on a slant) the memory module(s). Replace cover and battery.

Power on again.

If the problem persists, a memory module could be faulty. Follow the above instructions but test one module at a time.

Hope this helps.

Won't start and getting long beeps. compaq presario 6370

Hi,

The beeps that you are hearing might indicate that your computer has a bad RAM or memory modules already. Reseating the memory modules might resolve the problem. That means you have to remove then place back the RAM. The full instructions in installing memory modules can be viewed from this LINK and should give you an idea how to remove and place them back. If the problem persists, replace RAM/memory module.

I hope this works for you. Kindly comment for further assistance. Thanks for using Fixya!

Yes you can upgrade the memory to 2 x 512MB DDR SDRAM memory.
You will be pleased to know that the system supports up to 2GB DDR SDRAM memory (2 x 1GB)

be sure that the memory u got is compatible in your presario 5352. I tell you that adding 512mb to current 64 mb maybe a problem. you should remove the 64mb and replace it by 512mb and be sure that the new memory is compatible. want more information about your presario go to www.hp.com then search "compaq presario 5352"
