Question about Dometic Rooftop RV Air Conditioner
My roof top A/C fan starts to run and blows cold but it stops after about 30 seconds and the compressor stays on there is a capacitior mounted on the motor itself how do i test it to see if its bad and causing the motor to over heat and shut down. Also if i leave it on the motor trys to run but in cycles and only for about 1 to 2 turns and stops again
This sounds like one of your capacitors has failed
using an insulated screwdriver and, power not applied remove the spade connectors from one of the capacitors then short the capacitor to ground to discharge it replace the spade connectors apply power and, turn it on if the problem changes replace the capacitor (a bad capacitor usually is "bulged")
there are usually two capacitors a run and, a start
