Re: disc feeder broke

Hi Lasher,

Sorry to hear your PS3 is down, I know this is a stressul problem. I tell you, inr the best interest for everyone, you should contact Sony support on this problem.  You can reach Support at 1 800 345-7669 (SONY) and arrange a return to them for repair. They are very good and have done service for me in the past.  You should expect to get your PS3 back from them in under 20 days from the date you send it to them. The Postage with insurance is high at $37.50 including $500 insurance.

There is not kind of Quick fix on the Blue ray Disc drive unless you find the Pin hole that manually ejects the disc. .

Good luck,  I run the Playstation Clinic, in Fountain Inn, SC. if you need further assistance contact me as

Ive been told the motherboard has gone on the ps3. The only problem with the machine is that it wont accept discs anymore. It shows the loading up sign then nothing more happens.

Hi there, this is not a motherboard issue, this is a blu ray lens issue. When they become faulty they refuse to read discs hence the loading sign and nothing happening. It is attempting to read the disc but cannot. You can purchase blu ray drives for around £60 off of ebay or you could buy a faulty PS3 that the blu ray drive is good on and use that, usually they sell for around £50.

Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa

It would not play the game disc

First i would try a laser lens cleaner. If that doesnt work try several discs and movie's to ensure that it is not isolated to a few discs. If the cleaning doesnt help then either the motor on the disc drive has gone bad or the laser itself has gone bad. Either way you will then need to replace the disc drive. Thanks, Midwest-tek

Wont play any game at all

Could be a few things but seems like the most common of problems: your eye has broke and it's not reading anything on the discs anymore. Or if it's just one disc not playing, the disc could be scratched or broken.

Disc not spinning????

I'de just take it down to your local tech store and ask. If they can't buy a new PS3 disc drive or something like that. Keep the receipt and if it doesn't work take the drive back!

The xbox can't read the unscratched and clean discs

yeah, you can keep opening and closing it till it works or you can send it in to get it repaired. i tried every way possible to fix it, but i couldnt. something in the dvd drive has gone out and won't read discs the same anymore.

CD wont spin

You are unable to play your discs because the Blu-Ray Lens that enables the PS3 to read Blu-Ray movies or games has gone bad.

There is nothing you can do about it. You need to take it to an authorized Sony Service Center and get the lens replaced.

There may be many problem that have occurred to make this happen, here is a list of the three most common:
  1. You MAY have a disc jammed into the PS2, making it impossible to open (and/or) close. This could have happened by someone accidentally putting one disc right on top of a disc that is in the PS2, and not taking the other game, movie, etc., out. How to fix? Best Buy, Circuit City. Another way this could have happened is: an earthquake, flood, SOMETHING, may have happened that made a disc fall out of the tray (while INSIDE of the PS2) and jam it up, to fix this, you have to do the same as the first option.
  2. The motor is broken, this is pretty self explanatory, the motor that makes the disc drive open and close is broken, solution? Same as before.
  3. Your PS2 has reached it's prime, and gone over the hill, sorry buddy. :(

Will not read discs

If Wii gives Disc Read Error, first step you need to check is to try another disc or clean the exisitng disc. This will confirm that problem is with either Wii or Disc. If the console itself is giving disc read error then it needs to be repaired. You may check out DIY Wii Fix Guide, that will show step by step information to fix the problem yourself. It also gives information on fixing many Wii Related Problems, so its a kind of Wii Problems Reference Fix Guide
