i got most of the paper out but several blades still have paper jammed between them, when trying to advance paper the motor runs but machine does not accept paper
If not then it looks like you have sheared the drive gears from the motor to the cutting heads
If you are shredding lots of paper it is wise to buy some Rexel Shredder oil and lubricate the blades

- If the machine is running on Manual then the paper detection switch is over ridden and is not required.
The paper detection sensor is only required if you are using the shredder in Auto Mode.
If the blades are not turning it is a drive problem from the motor to the cutters.
As most of them are driven by a very small motor running fairly fast through a gear train which reduces down the revolutions per minute to allow the cutters to turn it is more likely that yuor machine has stripped a gear or snapped a drive belt

The shredder started to make loud noises, so I thought it needed to be oiled. Now it simply makes a low humming noise and won't shred at all. Can this be fixed?
