How long will a print cartridge last if you keep refilling it

it depends the refilling method
first let me explain you how the cartridges work
a sponge is in the cartridge that curies the ink
the ink goes down because of the gravity and it
is been heat in the printhead ..that makes cartridge
blow ink on paper
if you leave air bubbles in the cartridge when the printhead
get the command to worm ink it will worm air
thats a good reason to melt printhead

that is why it is critical to remove all air bubbles from
the cartridge

you can check here a good way to refill and to remove air bubbles
from the spong ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MPi2GqJg5QM )

A new ink cartridge that was working now shows the red light warning and will not print

The problem with inkjet printers is that they needed to keep the print head moist all the time in order to prevent blockage. Try wiping the printhead on the ink with moist tissues untill ink flow freely. You might have left the printer unused for a long time. The ink might have expired too. Check the ink packaging for the date.

Had this prob with a RA4050. Took out the ink tube, used a pencil to push the base up the ink tube till it appeared at the top. Reloaded ink tube and was resolved. Maybe air bubble in ink tube?
