Question about Olevia LT23HVX 23 in. LCD Television
I have an OLEVIA 323 S11 television that suddenly stopped working. When powered on you can see the screen light slightly but I cannot change inputs nor do any menu screens appear. I am utilizing the HDMI input from my PS3 and an analog signal from my DENON receiver for all other video.
I think I have a similar problem. The screen lights up, but I have thin vertical lines, mostly washout out by white toward the top. However, I can hear the TV programs even as I surf up and down through my channels.. If I change inputs, it seems to cycle through each mode, and I am able to get back to the TV input, but the display does not change.

If it is an LCD (not DLP), there is likely a problem in the power supply /and or inverter circuit that drives the ccfl backlights. It is sensing a problem and shutting down to prevent further damage. Bad electrolytic capacitors are a common fault. They usually bulge at the top and chemical leaks out. These degraded capacitors wil cause unstable operation, and shutdown. www.badcaps.net/forum is a great resource for information.
