Question about ViewSonic VPW425 42 in. Plasma HDTV
I was recently given a Viewsonic 425 that use to be in a dealership. Well, I'm an electrician and traded some labor for it. It works perfectly for about an hour or so then shuts itself down. If I reset it in the back it runs for about 15 minutes then continues to turn off. Any ideas? I have basic electronic knowledge.
Im not too familiar with viewsonic but it sounds like an ovrheating issue. i would monitor th power supply and the y sustain board. they seem to be the most common failures in plasma tvs. if you can tell me the panel model number inside the tv i may be able to assist you further...

Tips for a great answer:
Jun 20, 2011 | ViewSonic Cine1000 Multimedia Projector
Dec 09, 2009 | ViewSonic VA902b 19" Monitor
Nov 05, 2009 | Computers & Internet

Jan 25, 2008 | ViewSonic VPW425 42 in. Plasma HDTV
the screen has begun vibrating and is very hard to read.
it sounds me that there is some sparking in power supply or high voltage section (FLYBACK) due to loose contact,
your problem of shut off, I would turn it back on and it would stay on
.might be also due to that only.
please call tech if you are not a tech person.
it is not a major one & simple to fix.
