-   i550 flashes orange 7 times then once green, status check says error "printer not responding"; also, with printer alone (w/o USB plugged in) still gives same flashing lites pattern. Tried doing EPROM reset procedure, did not help. (Procedure: hold down reset button, then power on held down at same time, then still holding power down, press and repress reset button several times, to clear printer eprom.) but did not help, still same problem. Also, removed ink cartridges, then removed print head, cleaned and soaked print head in warm water let dry overnite, reinstalled all, still same problem..Also, corruption started likely with registry file altered, as two other printers now have same behavior/problem, wont print, flashing lite same pattern. Corrupted OS file spread to all printers. May have somehow damaged all printheads, as this is what this seven orange flashes indicates with the i550 canon printer. Reinstalled drivers several times, no help. Tried updated drivers, no help. Printer shows same error even with USB unplugged. Problem is transferred to damage within printer itself, wont undo, even with eprom reset. Printer will not respond to computer printer driver's maintanance commands. Gives status error, printer not responding, with same flashing lites pattern. Printer is as if is "locked up." Wont respond at all. Either eprom corrupted, damaged, or somehow frozen. Yet gives print head error fault. On several printers after each connected to same computer, then this error fault displays on all printers. Is spread to each printer, as if a corrupted file from computer in turn damages printer functionality, in separate printers. Yet printers wont reset, eprom is frozen, stuck, in locked up error state.-   Guest
