There is no menu button on the side. The menu button is on the front. When I push it, it reads "Check, Ovr-W, Dict, U-Lock. Holding it while pushing SEL or SEL does nothing different. Model D1000 If anything more specific than that is needed I don't have it - purchased this four years ago and I don't keep paperwork/receipts past 3 years usually.

Holding down the menu button just allows me to change the date and time of the unit. Wow, it's default said January 1997! I didn't think I'd had this that long. Anyway, I found out about an hour ago that if I kept pressing the rewind key relentlessly, I was finally able to get back to set 1. It's too bad Olympus doesn't provide the manual online! One would think that for a unit that costs $100, they would. Printing cos. provide online manuals for their printers that cost $100.

Anyway, thanks for your help! Have a nice weekend!

Oh, forgot to mention - there is no PC port on this old unit.

You need to press the menu button for a second or longer to access the options. Have you tried both FF & REW keys to see if you scroll to the lock function? Another option if you can get to the menu is to format the unit, this will erase all files.
Lastly can you connect it to a PC & delete the files? Do not try formatting it on a PC as this will delete the units operating system & it will be useless

How do I stop the JVC from wasting the readout on KM200?

Hello mwalkercom

It sounds like your JVC is still set for factory default which is "DEMO" mode.

To cancel the DEMO, you need to go into PSM (personal settings mode).

1) Press and hold SEL until the display changes.
2) Press left/right rocker until DEMO is displayed.
3) Turn volume knob to change to DEMO OFF.
4) Press SEL briefly to exit.

Now you can use the DISP button to change the display to show the options you desire.

Hope this helps.

Help setting the time on a JVC KD240 Car Stero

Hello dmay006,

Are you releasing the SEL button after the receiver enters the PSM mode? As soon as the display changes, you should release the SEL button and then use the "up" button to scroll to the "item". Each time you press the "up" button, the display should change. When it reads "CLOCK HOUR", use the volume control to adjust the setting. Press the "up" button once again to advance to "CLOCK MIN" and adjust it with the volume control. Press SEL briefly once again to exit the PSM mode. Once in PSM mode, if no other button has been pressed within about 3-5 seconds, the receiver will automatically cancel the PSM mode.

If you are following this procedure and the receiver will not let you into the PSM mode or let you switch from item to item with the "up" "down" buttons, then it is most likely defective and requires service or replacement.

Hope this helps.

Set clock on radio

Hello atesha23,

Below is the step-by-step procedure for setting the JVC clock. Please note that after you have entered the PSM mode, if you have not pressed a button for about 2 seconds, the radio will automatically exit the mode and return to normal operating mode. In that case, you must restart PSM by holding the "SEL" button until the display changes.

(1). Enter the PSM mode by pressing and holding the
SEL button until the display changes.
(2). Use the rocker switch left/right until "CLOCK
H" is displayed.
(3) Set the clock hours by turning the volume
control up/down.
(4) Press the rocker switch again until "CLOCK M"
is displayed.
(5) Set the clock minutes by turning the volume
control up/down.
(6) Press the SEL button to finish and EXIT.

Hope this helps.

Changing the time pioneer DEN2000MP

The solution that worked for me is:

1) turn off the radio.
2) Push and hold the power button down (the dial). DON'T release the button.
3) The unit will display the time on the lcd screen with the numbers flashing, (only hr or min).
4) use the up/dwn, right/left buttons to set the clock.
5) turn off the unit by pushing the power button (again, the dial).

That is it. the clock should be set.

Hope that helps,
