SOURCE: Whirlpool model ED5FHAXSLOO refrig 3 years old very noisy

If it is cooing fine, then the noise is probably your evaporator fan (the one inside your freezer). This can be cause by one of several things. The motor on this fan may be going bad, or, more likely, you may have a build up of ice around the blades that are touching the fan. This may be caused by a defrost circuit that has gone bad, or, the freezer may have been open alot lately and there is an excess of frost that hasn't melted away yet. If you can, manually defrost the freezer and see if it goes away. If it doesn't, it's probably the fan motor. If it does, and then comes back, it's probably the defrost circuit. Hope this helps!

Window unit cooling good but does not kick off cooling

Could be one of two things - the contactor is welded shut causing the compressor to run continuously - or the temperature control sensor which cycles the compressor on and off needs replacing.

Now if you turn the temperature control switch fully clockwise to the cooling mode and then start to turn it counter clockwise. You should hear a click indicating the temperature control switch is working.

That only leaves the compressor contactor as the problem.

These units are complicated and you probably need a technician to take a look at it. Also depending on how old it is, it may be just as economical price wise to replace it.

Whirlpool model ed2vhgxmt00 quit cooling

Helo sir

  • Check the temperature setting
  • Make certain there is a three inch space outside of the refrigerator between the walls and the back and sides and at least a one inch gap above, to allow for air flow
  • Clean the condensor coils
  • Unplug the refrigerator, wait two hours and plug it in. If you hear it running, a problem is causing the compressor to overheat
  • Test the temperature control
  • Test the evaporator fan
  • Test the defrost timer
  • Test the compressor relay
  • Test the overload protector
  • Test the compressor motor

Sounds like your thermostat is bad. You probably have to replace it and the sending unit also. Big job! Look for a manual at : http://www.servicemanuals.net

    COMPRESSOR RUNS A LOT

Your model has a mechanical thermostat inside the control panel. I believe you have something else going on like a bad fan, start relay, capacitor. Something is causing the compressor to struggle to keep up and in turn causing the compressor to short cycle. If the thermostat has no control over run time then something like I explained is causing the problem. Here is a parts manual=> ED5VHEXVB04 Contact me if you would like my help, Thanks Sea Breeze

Whirlpool AD70USR0 Dehumidfier - Our basement is extremely humid and the dehumidfier sounds and looks like its running but collects no humidity...any suggestions why?

If it is very cold some of these consumer units will not turn on the compressor. If the unit suddenly stopped working and the temperature is room temperature I would guess a refrigeration issue- either a leak or bad compressor. Make sure the "full bucket" indicator light is not on- the condensate bin may not be plugged into the unit properly.

Whirlpool (ER6AHKYPQoo) refrigerator temperature is hot, motor comes on and off then just stops completely. the freezer keeps cool but doesn't freeze.

the rtc contactor overload on the compressor body is not holding in anymore and is short cycling the compressor you will need to access the compressor in the rear of the unit, remove the spring clip that holds the overload rtc and run capacitor on the compressor body, then unplug this from the compressor side body and replace it,then reverse the procedure

the temperature control is bad. when you push the fast freeze it bypasses the thermostat for 12-24 hours depending on which model you have. I am not able to find any parts information with the model number provided but you should be able to find a temperature control at any local appliance parts house or online thru any reputable supplier. WHIRLPOOL NO-FROST REFRIG/FREEZR MODEL-EHT201ZKWR5

    looks like operating normally...

the fridge as it reaches it's temperature shuts the compressor off and then after a few minutes..the fridge would increase temperature again and would turn back the compressor again.

its the thermostat which is cutting on and off the compressor.

and i think it is normal. based on the temperatures that you indicated..it is cooling very well..0 F in the freezer and 40 in the refrigerator... that's good.
