The R button of my gameboy advance SP doesn't work

Sometimes it is hard for me to press the R button of my gameboy, when i press it it doesn't work but sometimes i try many times of pressing it but still it doesn't work, it only works when i press it very hard I have the same problem. I saw a quick fix for DS buttons involving dabbing water on the sides of the buttons with a cue-tip, soaking up the water, and blowing on it, but I do NOT know if it works for SP's or how much risk is involved.

Because its a low voltage device , a tiny bit of water won't damage it

you could try checking the connections on the cpu

You need to have the codes loaded for the game, and if you do, most for them are either automatically on or need a set of buttons to be pressed. Sometime L+R Select. It should say what it is.

I had the same problem. It was a solder connection in the charger socket. I tried to fix it but made it worse. I ended up having to switch the battery with a charged one from another GameBoy. That's how I was able to keep using it.

Hi i have a Gameboy color and 1 advanced and they both have problems with the lcd screen it's so dark hard to se what's going on on it :) what's wrong ? can anyone help

you either play them under direct (sun) light or attach some kind of external light like a worm light for a game boy color/advance, but the light isn't evenly distributed. i have a halo light for my gb advance--better than nothing.
game boy advance sp has a front lit screen.
GameStop sells game boy advance sp for $40.
