First, I would try canceling the document either at the printer (hit cancel if it has already been sent) or at the computer.

You can do this by going to start -> settings -> printers and faxes
double click on the printer to open it
right click on the offending file and hit delete

It sounds like both of these have been done already. So...next option.

Second option - Restart the print spooler
Go to Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Services
Click on the "Print Spooler"
Select Restart

Third option - delete the document from the spooler
Stop the Print Spooler by following the instructions above and clicking "stop"
Delete all files in the c:\windows\system32\spool\printers directory
Restart the print spooler.

CAUTION!!! - This will clear out both the offending job and any other jobs that have been sent to the printer after the offending job. If you have a number of other jobs, you may wish to clear out only the offending job from the printers directory.

Hope this helps - flub

Click on Start, then right-click on Computer (Vista) or My Computer (XP) and select Manage from the context menu. Expand Services and Applications and click on Services. In the right-hand window, right-click on Print Spooler and select Stop. Open Windows Explorer and navigate to C:\Windows\system32\spool\printers/ Open the folder for the printer in question and delete all of the files from this directory. Go back to the Service Manager and Start the Print Spooler again.

You should now be able to print.

Several HP All-in-One models have this very same problem. The only way you can get rid of the unwanted job is to reboot your computer.
You could also try unplugging the printer and plugging it again to the computer, or just turning it off and on, but most of the times rebooting is the only option.

My printer won't print. it sends the jobs to the "queue" but doesn't do anything. what do i do?

First of all whatever jobs u have sent to the queue ... pause it and go to services.msc and stop the print spooler services ... minimize the page and delete the print jobs from the queue.... go back to services.msc.... restart the print spooler services..... if that does not work .... follow the detail link : http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c00843712&cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en&product=1138342

It seems to be an issue with the printer drivers on the computer,You need to check for
any queued documents,if they are there,if yes, delete them,if not go ahead and
unintsall the printer drivers from the control panel>printers and faxes and then
restart your computer and then try a plug and play if its a USB printer

Hp officejet 4315 all in one printer spooler

In windows, go to the start menu, then control panel, then printers. When you have that open, double click on your printer. This will bring up the queue of all documents waiting to print. You can then highlight them and delete all of them.

good luck

Unable to cancel a document from printing

I have a lexmark 640 and experienced the same problem today and read similar problems but noone provided a solution. Fortunately I managed to solve the problem by cancelling the job then while it was still in print queue, shut down and restarted the computer.

This worked for me.
