Question about HP Officejet Pro L7680 All-In-One Printer

1 Answer

HP will not recognise new cartridge

After changing colour catridges (the black one was changed earlier) HP Officejet L7680 will not accept the Magenta, keeps telling that the cartridge is empty or not installed. Reset (also with #3-combination), power off and back on, more then 4 hours off power, nothing helps. Bought new cartridge, same problem. Changing back to the old cartridge and machine is up and running (indicating that the cartridge is empty of course). Is there anything more I can do? After cleaning FULL yellow hp cartridge will print a few sheets with complete yellow area then the yellow area printed diminishes to the point where no yellow is printed. A different new yellow hp cartridge does the same. Doing a reset with #3 & #9 has not resolved the issue. Machine in use for apx 4 months after purchase when this problem started. Probably 1,000 sheets printed to date

The problem you are describing with the yellow cartridge sounds like ink starvation possibly due to a clogged print head or an air bubble in the print head. Since the machine is so new I would contact HP to get the print head replaced. As for the magenta cartridge, exchanging it for a new one at the store you bought it from should fix the problem. It sounds like the chip on the one you have is either damaged or wasn't set to read full ink levels.

The error states that you are using non-HP cartridges for all colours. If black prints fine then you should replace the colour cartridges with genuine HP colour carts. You should be able to get a refund on the refills since they clearly do not work as intended.

My HP OfficeJet L7680 just stopped printing ANYTHING black. I change the black cartridge twice.I cleaned the printer heads, aligned it and still it will no longer print anyhting in black. When I do a test...

It sounds like your printer setup has changed to generating black by MIXING the color inks... if you run out of the cyan and yellow it will do red in spite of how many changes you make of the black cartridge.

Investigate the setup for the printer to make sure it is set for black from the black cartridge.

My D145 HP all in one Officejet doesn't recognise new colour cart

hi penned2you, when you say that you have installed new colour cartridge, is it a new refilled cartridge or an original from the manufacturer? cause if it is refilled then most of the time depending on the level of ink that was in it... the printer will not accept it, when you say you have tried different ones, do you mean different empties that were in there before? cause if it is then the printer will not accept them either. to get them to be accepted you have first know that the printer stores 3 cartridges in memory and so you have to let it read for eg. the colour catridge #i, then #2 then #3, after cartidge #3 is inserted then colour #1 will now be accepted. the same goes for the black if you're using original cartridges then these steps dont apply... the only thing i know of to rectify the problem is to clean the printer cartridge contacts and then cleaning the carriage contacts. if done correctly it should work. if not then give me some more info on your situation, casue i would suspect that the printer itself maybe damaged (if it is infact you have inserted more than one different new original cartridges) if these intructions helped in any way please rate it and also to let me know how it turns out.
thanx
bye

HP L7680 Print Problem

In this case what i would request u to do is.......
Take out both the catridges from the Printer.........
Take 2 Paper Towels one should be wet with Luke warm water and the other one should be dry...........
Take the Colour catridge first turn it upside down and u will see a small copper plate on the catridge from where the ink comes out.......
Place the wet paper towel using ur thumb on the Copper plate and press it a lit bit for 10 Seconds......
Now remove it and see whether u see any ink on the paper towel..........
U should see some ink on it now place the dry paper towel on the ink catridge in the same way........
Now do the same procedure again..........
Do the same procedure twice on the Black Catridge.................
Now take the dry paper towel and turn the direction of the cartridge so that u can see a Copper plate on it with small boxes just clean that copper plate with the Dry Paper Towel..........
Know insert both the catridges inside the Printer..
Good Luck
