L4 is usually to do with the main motor drive check the papaer path from tray to exit to see if there is any jams then take the drum out amd manually turn the gear to see if its stiff the last place to look is the fuser check from exit if the rollers are jammed ort there is an obstruction.

normaly the L4 points to a motor problem. but reading about streaks on the drum, the drum might be also part of the problem (like blocking motion)

If your only problem is L4, please check the main motor. It might be defective. Try simulation 25. Press C, exposure key, C, then enter 25 and press Print key, then check your main motor if it rotates or function....

H 4 code flashing

The H4 code indicates the fuser may have blown the thermistor. It also could be a false error code. Try this series to clear the error and if it returns, then you'll know for sure the fuser is the culprit. To reset press the following buttons:
  1. Press this sequence: CLR-Exposure-CLR-Exposure
  2. The display will go blank
  3. enter "14", press "PRNT"
  4. Press "CLR" several times to exit.
Give that a try and good luck.

L4 error code

L4:The Main PWB sensed a Main Drive Motor MOT1 problem.

The main drive motor has a small white helix gear attached to the drive shaft.
Most likely that gear has cracked and is slipping on the shaft.
The main drive motor itself may be bad, either way, the motor will most likely need to be replaced.
