Bosch integrated dishwasher water pump wont go off

Water pump stays on ( I can see the impeller whizzing round) therefore wont progress with cycle. It does clear the water and keeps running when the water has gone. I think I must have jammed a water sensing switch as this happened after I used a hose pipe (not a bright idea) to flush the top and bottom water channels. Thankyou.

Thanks for your help. I cant see anything red or switchlike around the impeller-its all white plastic. It is clearing water but there remains a little water which is churning around. There are two other channels which I can stick my finger down - they are clear - I cant feel any switches inside. Thanks again

    Hi,

I looked underneath but all I could find was an adjustment screw for the front panel - otherwise there was no access I could see so it was beyond my abilities. Good news though is that the jolting that this entailed seems to have reset the switch and the machine is now going through its cycle. Thanks for taking the time to help me.

Sounds like the drain pump stays on. take the kickplate off and check for water in the base. if no water then make that little red bar to the left of the watervalve in the base go up and down a few times. you could have a stuck microswitch on the pressure chamber

oh i mean at the very bottom of the machine on the floor is the kick plate. take that off. could be T20 torx screws if not regular screws. then you will see the base that has the watervalve and such.

Slow or no drain of water. cleaned out sump covers and ran drain cleaner thru cycle. looking for possible secondary filter.

Hi, if the water doesn't drain from your dishwasher, check the drain line and pump..

A clog in the drain line or air gap (if there is one) is the usual reason that a dishwasher won't drain. Often the problem is at the point where the drain line attaches to the garbage disposer or household drain line. If you remove this line, you can clear any debris from the hose or hose connection. Be sure to reattach the hose before starting the dishwasher again.

Your dishwasher pump ejects the water. The pump is usually mounted directly to the motor, then attached to the bottom of the dishwasher. You can reach the pump from inside the dishwasher, but first you need to remove the lower rack, the spray arm, and the spray arm support.
Look for an impeller--a round plastic fan blade-type of device that spins around. This is the wash impeller, which forces the water through the spray arm. Beneath the wash impeller is the drain impeller, which is similar in size and shape to the wash impeller. The drain impeller pushes the water toward the drain port. These components make up the pump. If any of the pump components are defective, you need to replace them.

Hope it helps...

Soap dispenser is not opening at the proper time. Dishes are cloudy and detergent is not dissolved. Type of detergent used makes no difference.

Either:

1. the water does not get into the dishwasher open the dishwasher 3-4 times during cycle, you should see some water at least once, if not - check water valve, water level float and water pressure.
2. the pump is clogged - there is water, the motor will run but no water is circulated. Check pump filters, check chopper and impeller.
3. motor in main pump is not working - could be caused by something stuck on the impeller or chopper or could be a problem with the motor itself or control board. Check if line voltage is coming to the motor during wash/rinse cycle.

Good luck,

Soap stays in disperser. Water is 142 degrees, dispenser opens. Not overloaded and filter under bottom wand is clean. Model is 16342

Either:
  1. check if the bottom rack is inserted correctly. Try turning it 180 degrees and run the cycle. Make sure nothing obstructs the dispenser.

Bosch dishwasher wont drain. At end of cycle is full of cloudy water.

It is possible if you have broken a glass recently that the piece of glass has made its way to the drain pump impeller. You need to remove bottom basket. Remove the filter strainer clamp by rotating CCW. There may be another round filter under the strainer (depending on model). Then with a torque screwdriver remove one screw which holds the plastic pump cover on. Remove the pump cover and pay close attention to the pump impeller. Does it rotate by finger movement? If not it could be jamed with a piece of broken glass. You must remove any obstruction to allow the impeller to turn. I usually force a paper towel piece (half piece while rotating the impeller by finger to allow the paper towel to bring up any obstruction below the impeller) Reassemble the cover and filters carefully and make sure the final strainer clamp aligns correctly with its marks. This insures nothing will make its way to the impeller in future.
