Question about Dishwashers

1 Answer

Dishwasher problem Indesit 320 dishwasher will not run through the program. It fills up starts washing, & continues washing. Fills with water & will not empty or dry. I have checked & the waste is not blocked. Have had a good feel around the bottom (internally) & there do not seem to be any obstructions. Can anyone help? Could it be the "control module" if there is such a thing? Many Thanks

Re: Dishwasher problem

Try taking the drain pump off, easy job just tip machine back remove 3 screws from front of base then remove the single screw from pump and twist to remove check impeller is free to turn chances are its not and is probably jammed with broken glass or sweetcorn the two most popular culprits, remove this by either moving the impeller with a screw driver or split the pump using 3mm torx bit, reassemble in reverse order and your sorted.

Dishwasher fills with water, then empties, fills then empties, and repeats this cycle a few times - then decides to work. then part way through cycle - it repeats this frustrating cycle, making the whole...

Hi, Your dishwasher may pre-heat the water. If so, and if the water entering the dishwasher is cool, the heater may take up to half an hour to heat the water. To avoid the wait, increase the incoming water temperature before turning on the dishwasher. Do that by running the kitchen sink faucet until the water runs hot. Or increase the temperature of the hot water to the entire house at the hot water heater.
Timers don't often fail. But if every other part of the dishwasher seems to be working properly and the timer knob seems to be stuck in one place--doing one function continuously--the timer may be at fault. Dishwasher timers can't be repaired. If yours is defective, replace it.

My dishwasher starts fills water and never starts wash cycle?

If you hear a hum when it should be washing, the motor has seized. Replace motor. If it fills with water and stops quite, run it through a test using the tech sheet under the bottom panel to access. These dishwasher have had issues with the motor.

Hi, our Indesit IDL500 dishwasher has stopped working. The fault light 2 is flashing. The manual doesn't mention what fault this indicates. Any ideas. Cheers, Neil

Hi Niel, If you were to start the cycle from the beginning, where in the cycle does this occur? . So many code numbers for so many units, hard to keep up .Just note if heating is taking place and if drainage is correct. Hear from you soon.

Indesit DG6100W problem...please help!

Hi, I have the same dishwasher and it fills from the cold supply, not the hot and it doesn't have a cold cycle as is previously suggested, as you will know kellyemb :-)

The Indesit DG6100W does a fill from the cold and heats as it washes, so if it's sticking part way through, it could be the heating element. Have you tried opening the door when it sticks and seeing if the water is hot? The heating element went on ours and it kept tripping the electric whenever the it tried to start to heat the cold water. If it is the element, they don't cost much to replace, even cheaper if you know someone who can fit it for you! Ours cost us around £12 and hubby fitted.

The only other thing I can think of is it might be the timer, like someone has suggested but how to reset it, I have no idea. I have seen on another website that a replacement timer is around £55 plus VAT, which is a little expensive.

Hope you get it fixed.

Check to see how fast water is entering the dishwasher.
They work on a timed basis with a float switch being a safety.
You may want to check how the water gets into the dishwasher and  then see if there is plugging somewhere.

Dishwasher filling up then stopping

is it going into the wash or just filling and thats it? if it fills and does nothing straight after it is probably the wash motor is jammed or seized. if the d/w starts to wash then stops it may be the heater is faulty.
