I have a big screen tv and after turning it on one day the picture and sound are m.i.a. the screen stays blue the channel numbers will show up and the menu shows up fine. but no sound or picture. Now if i put it in the pip and have one on main and the other on a different input source I can get a picture on the half of the screen but no sound and no pic in the pip box. Re: No pic or sound
The TV is in some kind of protection mode, the blinking LED show you an error code.
Try pressing 062596 and then press menu button (do these in quick
motion, don't let them to time out while keying)...see what happens
I also heard that this problem appeared with some people because the of
the burnt fuse in the TV. To fix that it has to be taken to the tech
And yes I also heard about this issue many times, seems like this TV set is very popular with this kind of problem.

Frank: Verizon. com says try this: Change your VCR's Channel to 3 or 4. Most blue screen issues are caused by the VCR not being set to Channel 3 or 4. If changing the VCR's channel (using the channel buttons on the VCR or from the VCR remote control) did not change your TV screen, go to step 2.
Make sure your TV is not in Video mode. There are three possible ways to change your TV's mode using your TV remote control: 1) Press a Mode button, toggle through the options and select TV, 2) Press a Video button to change your TV's mode from Video to TV or 3) Press Menu, locate Mode or Audio/Video setup and select TV from one of the options. If you are not sure how to change your TV's mode, see your TV's user guide for more information.
Check to make sure your set-top box is plugged in and turned on.
Sharp has had a few problems with their audio boards, not finding any bulletins on this model, but a few complaining about low audio on amazon reviews section. If using an antenna you will experience some channels with low audio. If using cable you should get good sound on all channels..
the 9.1 and 9.2 are digital channels and sharp does display them for at least a few seconds when you switch to that channel. Check all your setting in the audio to Stereo never SAP. To options for you are get a cable box, first check in the back and see if there is another coax in, if there are two try both rescanning after connecting.
I JUST GOT HOME AN TRIED TO TURN MY JVC PLASMA TV ON. THE TV WILL NOT TURN ON. EVERYTHING ELSE HAS POWER TO INCLUDE THE TV BUT THERE IS NO PICTURE OR SOUND. BLANK SCREEN. THE BLUE POWER LIGHT IS FLASHING ON AND OFF. THE MODEL NUMBER LT-42P789
For your remote problem, mine has stopped working a couple of times and here is what Sharp had me do: Take the batteries out of the compartment. Next press and hold down the power button on the remote for a count of 30 seconds. Return batteries and the RC should be reset. As for the other problem, I had a similar thing happen tonight, hence I am on this site looking for help. My remote quite working, so I did the above, to no avail. I noticed the channel number box was frozen on the screen. I could not turn the TV off manually and had to unplug from AC. I plugged it back in and got sound but no picture, just that bluish dark screen. TV would not turn off. Then I got nothing, no sound, no pic. I left the TV unplugged for several minutes, 5 or so, plugged it in and it did work and is working now, RC too. You might try unplugging it for an extended time.
It looks like your TV might have a main board failure if the screen stays white without video. Since your TV is less then a year, I would suggest to contact the manufacturers to get fix under warranty. Most electronics devices carry one year warranty.
Check the signal type. It may be set incorrectly.
Change the channel. You may be on a blank channel.
Check to see if the TV is tuned to channel 3 or 4 if you are watching a videotape.
Check the TV/VCR button on the VCR is in the correct mode by pressing the TV/VCR button on your VCR.
