All I need is the dv connection to transfer the video and audio right?

  • drichards61 May 29, 2009

what do you mean "inspect in windows tips"?

  • drichards61 May 29, 2009

i have a "sima" multi cable but am using the DV port on the camcorder to the usb on the computer.

  • drichards61 May 29, 2009

but I can transfer the video itself I just can't get any sound. There is no "video in" on my computer ports.

  • drichards61 May 29, 2009

I just don't understand it. My old computer I had no problems and I was using only a usb port. Now I've got a Dell and am using the IEEE port and have only problems. There is no way to make sure the audio goes with it with the dv cable?

Check your volume controls on the computer itself
Make sure the mic is turned up as well as the wav and line in
If not turn them on and make mute is not checked

You are better using a firewire cable if your camera supports it - that way it will transfer the video and audio together.

I had a similiar video camera a few years back and had to purchase a firewire card for my computer as it had a firewire port but did not have one in my computer.

The JVC web pages ( support / faq ) always to most of the time are very good at walking you through what you need.

Forgot to mention it states about using your own video editing software - if you have windows xp or something similiar ( vista or windows ) you should be able to use windows movie maker to capture the video or you can sometimes get video editing software with the camera - if not if you look on ebay there are plenty of good products out there ( obviously read reviews etc before buying )

How to transfer record to my laptopeduard

needs drivers to install camera to laptop. or In order to place taped videos to the PC, you need a Fire Wire port on your computer, a 6pin to 4pin fire wire cable, and a lot of hard drive space. One hour is about 14 gigs when transfered 100% uncompressed. After editing and compression though the file size is very manageable.

**For every minute you record it takes one minute to transfer to the PC*

My computer doesn't not recognize my JVC GR-D275 camcorder.

sack whoever told you not to use firewire - buy a card for your PC and cable suitable for the camera (likely to end up being a 1394 to iLink). USB is wholly unsuitable (1.0/1.1 is too slow and 2.0 not stable enough) for transferring video at the bitrates that come from DV. Firewire is designed almost exclusively for high-bandwidth applications such as this.

GR-D60EK importing data from camera to computer

You need a cable. If your camcorder has a DV port you need a firewire port in the back of your computer as well as a firewire cable. If your computer has a USB port you need a USB cable.

You also need video capturing software to use it. Pinnacle Systems makes an easy to use system that work with your camcorder. Once the software is installed, the cable is plugged in and the camera is turned on, your computer will lauch Studio for you.

Can't transfer video from cam to pc

While capturing the video you have to change the Video mode to PAL or NTFS mode & store the Video's in Memory card,

When you want to transper the video's, remove the card or directly plug in to the camera to Computer USB port

Now you can transper the Movie's easily..

Try it out.

good luck..

I want to capture movie from dv tape to compaq presario notebook

You are mentioning that you are trying to transfer video though USB port, that is not possible, you have to connect the to the pc through the DV port from the camera to the Firewire port of the PC, if your PC doesnt have a Fire wire port, install a IEEE1394 firewire card in one of your PCI slots.

How to transfer the video in Mini DV to my computer

I suggest getting the PCI IEEE 1394 also known as FireWire card. Most of the time these Firewire card comes with a Video editing software but verify because you will need some form of video editing s/w to record the video. After recording then you can edit it however you like and transfer to DVD/etc. Always a pain in the as to edit video. I've done it a couple of times. So have fun. I still have not manage to find a Video editing s/w that will do a 5.1 audio or multiple audio tracks (similar to switching between languages)

Can I connect my VHS-C or S-VHS-C camera to my computer?

Since VHSC camcorders feature only analog outputs: it is not possible to connect the camcorder directly to a PC (unless a computer video card is equipped with analog inputs). The only way to transfer images from the camcorder to a PC will be using an external device capable of analog/digital signal conversion. JVC has released a capture device model, GV-CB3U which has the capability of video capture of a single frame in either Bitmap or JPEG format. The GV-CB3 can be connected to any video source through a standard video or S-Video connector and download single image to a PC using serial port (RS232C communication port). The JLIP Video Capture software necessary to transfer images to the computer as well as connecting cables are supplied with this product. You can also use 3rd party hardware (Video Capturing device) to send information from your camera to a PC. Visit your local PC or Office store for more information on other video capturing devices.
