Question about Samsung SyncMaster 191T 19" Flat Panel LCD Monitor

1 Answer

Resolution Problem Since a XP reinstallation, my syncmaster 191T samsung monitor only works in 800 by 600 resolution. I can't get it to work ( at least in a readable mode!) in 1024 by 768. I have looked for another driver,....but I appear to have the right one. Tried mucking around with the refresh rate...only gets worse! :-( any suggestions? many thanks! Andrew

Re: Resolution Problem

You need to be installing a graphics driver for your onboard graphics or your graphics card, the monitor driver won't change the resolution, when you installed XP there wouldn't have been a graphics driver installed, only a VGA driver to enable a 800 x 600 resolution.

Find out your card manufacturer or your onboard graphics or use the cd that came with the motherboard or card.

The monitor is a Samsung SyncMaster 191T. My cat laid down on the keyboard today and now I am looking at an upside down screen. Can you help me out?

If you are in Windows XP, you can use the following key combination:
CRTL + ALT + up arrow
I am not sure if this combination works in Windows 7.
Good luck.

My monitor is turn off when i change rezolution is work only at 800*600 at 1024*768 don't work is turning off idk what to do please contact me

That means your video card and/or your monitor does not support that resolution. Check what the maximum resolution your monitor can handle. You can find that out by asking your monitor's manufacturer or looking up the model of your monitor online. If you're sure that the monitor can handle that resolution but its not working, try updating or reinstalling your video card driver.

Samsung SyncMaster 2233SW Monitor "Not

The "native" resolution of the monitor is the "optimal" resolution -- it looks best to use this resolution.

So, right-mouse click anywhere on your Windows desktop "wallpaper".
Click Properties.
Click Settings.
Move the "Screen Resolution" slider to the recommended settings.
Click Apply.
Click OK.

Samsung syncmaster 913v gives message ' not optimum mode"

The 913V has a native resolution of 1280x1024. If you use a higher resolution than that, you'll get slightly blurry text. If you use a lower resolution, then images will be slightly choppy around the edges.

To get rid of the message, set your resolution to 1280x1024.

In Windows XP, you do this by right-clicking on the background (desktop) and selecting "Properties" to bring up the display properties.
Select the tab marked "Settings" and look for a "Screen Resolution" slider. Move that slider to the right until it displays "1280x1024" and hit "OK"

Screen resolution problems since installing latest drivers.

try to revert back to your old nvidia driver, if it works, the latest driver does not support your syncmaster, contact nvidia or samsung..

I tried the following options and neither worked. 1) Hitting the monitor buttons as stated only got me a "digital" message and then the monitor went black as usual. Never got to any menu options. 2) Going into Safe Mode and changing the monitor settings or downloading/installing the correct driver didn't stick once you went back to the normal startup.

I didn't have another monitor handy to swap out so I had to be a little more creative. The only solution that worked for me is re-booting (F8 during startup) into the mode "Enable VGA Mode". This allowed me to go into the normal desktop with a screen resolution of 800x600. I went online, found the driver, downloaded it to the desktop. Deleted the video driver (Device Manager), installed the downloaded version, rebooted problems.

I have Windows XP. Hope that helps. :)

please try to check / use the display adapter device (like nvidia if this is installed in your PC) settings control panel instead of the System->Preference->Screen Resolution option then you can obtain the desired graphics display. best regards
