Re: refresh database

Refresh db can take up to 2 minutes,  leave several (+/- 5) megabytes of space for the e250 to work in.

How do I reformat my H10.

Try to refresh database. It's probably already deleted. It happened to me too, there were some files that weren't invisible for computer but were visible for the device. If you refresh it, it will show the same computer does. (That option is made for such cases, your database is damaged/corrupted.)

I reformatted my unit at my pc.. then it keeps saying refresh database... what can i do??

For the Sansa Clip, first try to RESET the player:
1. Slide and hold the Power switch up for approximately 20 seconds.
2. Release the Power switch.
3. To turn the player on, slide the Power switch up then release instantly.

If the player still freezes with the refresh database message, after a reset:
then update the firmware. Next link shows how to update the Sansa Clip:
In METHOD 1 is explained how to use the sansa updater, for Windows operating system.
METHOD 2 tells where to find the online sansa forum for updating manually.

The screen is stuck on a screensaver and it will not turn off or do anything

It often happens when it doesn't a file is corrupted. If it gets stuck on "Refreshing database", turn it off by holding the power switch until it shuts down, then plug it on a computer and when the sansa logo appears, unplug it. It will skip the datebase refresh and you'll be able to reformat it.

Mine did that, and I had to reformat. I believe this is how I did it (note, mine is not a Rhapsody type, that one is different in many respects):

"Refresh Database" never ends!

If you try to load too many songs onto the player initially, it may take up to an hour to get past Refresh database. Unfortunately, if you shut the player off while it is refreshing, it will more than likely ruin your player. Run the Sansa Recovery Tool or Update the Firmware on your Player as a workaround. Make sure the hold/lock switch isn't activated, just as a safeguard.

Frozen while on the refresh database screen

Try holding the power button for about 15-20 seconds. This usally shuts the whole thing down.

It may refresh the database as normal next time.
