Question about iRiver H10 MP3 Player

1 Answer

Cannot connect via USB to iRiver H320 hard disk

My H320 still works like new, charging, playing music, etc... except when I try to connect to it over USB to add or copy files off it. When the player says "Connected," the computer is almost completely frozen until I either get a timeout message or I remove the USB cable. THe message is something like "THe I/O function for hard drive /DR5 has timed out" but that's paraphrased. If I instead give up and pull the USB, the computer instantly begins responding again, any windows I tried to open during the stall now open, etc. All this happens on any USB port, and I've tried on multiple desktops and my laptop.
As it is I can still use it but I can't add or remove songs. I want to move the songs to a new player and hand it down... please help! Thanks.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Iriver won't let me upload from CDs and transfer....

Best way to use the H10 20gb is by creating a directory on your hard drive with your desired mp3 format files. Use ripping and encoding software with your existing audio cds.
Connect the h10 to the PC via the UMS trick (see this website).

Using a file directory on your pc, drag and drop the mp3 files from your pc to the MUSIC file folder on the h10. Install and run the EASY10 playlist creator software on your pc to organize the new files on your iRiver player. Disconnect the USB connection and enjoy!

Problem copying songs to iRiver H320 music player

This sounds like a drive error.

Try right clicking the drive in windows explorer  then properties>tools>error checking>check now and tick both boxes and then start.

My H320 does not appear to work with windows vista. It will not accept new music now i have upgraded my PC to windows vista. There is still plenty of space left on the harddrive of the Iriver. Any new music...

Windows Vista is a new program with tons of errors on it because, in order to reach the due date, they didn't fix the problem and just gloated how the finished it on time. So there's a good chance that Vista is the problem. Could you use the H320 when the PC did not have Vista on it?

Iriver H320 battery problem?

I had a similar problem. It seemed to just die with a light blue backlight, not the usual one. It would not turn off or on. I thought it was gone for good. However, I re-installed the driver (in control panel, system, hardware, device manager) I had to do this a number of times, with the h320 attached by usb and not attached. After a number of attempts, I got a message 'disconnect iriver h320' I then let the 320 completely lose its battery power (over a day or so) then attached the charger and got the charging message. It works fine now. Hope this helps
