Question about Computers & Internet

1 Answer

Lost e-mails I moved a laptop between countries, tried to set up e-mail using Mozilla for the first time, e-mails successfully downloaded, then next time I looked at them, they were gone. Changed back to outlook express, and since then the same thing has happened twice, not all disappearing but about 95%, including e-mail addresses in address book. Computer seemed to have rebooted on its own before it happened the last time. is it a virus please? where can I find the e-mails?

Have you tried a virus scan yet?
Avira Personal Edition is a good free one.
If all else fails back up everything important. Then do an O/S re-install with a full format. Just remember if you do download ALL your Laptops Drivers from the makers website BEFORE you format.

Mozilla thunderbird asks for configuration. I have lost access to my mail

About IMAP IMAP stands for the Internet Message Access Protocol. It enables a mail client (such as Thunderbird) to access messages stored on a mail server. It is more modern and fully featured than POP (Post Office Protocol), which is the other major protocol for accessing mail messages. Most email providers now support IMAP. To see whether your account uses IMAP or POP, check the Server Settings page in the Account Settings... for more info.

Sending failed unknown error message

Unless you really need it, I'd just ditch Windows Live Mail. Give yourself a direct link to your online mail page. If you need a mail client, try Mozilla Thunderbird.

Unable to access my e-mails when I click on my inbox as directed through recent upgrade. The little arrow only spins, but does not open my e-mails. I need this problem fixed ASAP. What needs to be done?

Actually, the problem is not with your email account, but with your internet browser unable to full access Yahoo.

Two possible fix to your problem, but it requires an hour to fix your email account.

First, whatever internet browser you are using (Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, etc.)
clear all caches, remove all cookies and clear everything in your browsing history. This should be done in the TOOLS menu of your internet browser. Then, access again Yahoo and log in.

Second, if the first fix do not work, use alternate internet browser to access your Yahoo mail account. If you do not want to use different browser, I recommend you uninstall it, download an upgrade version and install it to your system.

The next time you access Yahoo mail, it will be successful.

Good Luck!

After loggin into Yahoo mail, I am getting kicked out of internet explorer as soon as I try to read my mail.

Hello, it seems that you're having problems with Internet Explorer. Have you tried using a different browser like Mozilla Firefox? :) Please go here: then click on Download Firefox Free..wait for a few moments and a prompt will appear if you want to save or run the software. Click Run, after downloading, it will install. After installing, try to open the Mozilla Firefox shortcut and try to browse your Yahoo! Mail. :)

There was a problem accessing your account. Please try again in a moment. error #1 While trying to access Inbox this error occurs Please help

Try switching your web browser. Mozilla to iExplorer or iexplorer to Mozilla. If still not then download Yahoo Messenger and try login there. Once successful it will show you a message saying XXX mails in your account click on that and you are in. If anyhow you have not received any message, ask you friend to send you an email to your blocked account and within no time you will get the mail and the message. Click on the message and Viola you are in.

Mozilla Firefox Crashes at times when fowarding e-mails.

My first recomendation is to run a virus scan. Hopefully you have an up to date virus app installed.
If you are sure the problem is not a virus, my next recommendation is to uninstall adobe flash and then reinstall it. From the sound of what you are doing, I believe Flash may be corrupted.
Last option is to reinstall Firefox.

Did you have a lot of emails saved. Outlook Express does have a 2 Gig limit on storage space for emails.

Maybe this will help you if that is the case.
