Question about Cameras

1 Answer

My canon ixus 860 is is a year old. Donloads have worked perfectly up until now, using the canon browser. Now, suddenly, when I connect it to the HP laptop for downloading pictures, it says that the camera is not connected and to retry. Have tried several times but it is not working. Have uninstalled and reinstalled the software, as well. Your suggestions on how to solve this are appreciated. Kind regards, MJB

Ok, I tried the restore and put in the date 27 May. However, I had the same message on the Canon window - camera not connected & retry.

So, if I put in a date - say January 2009, for the restore , will my computer not recongnize the other program updates that have been done recently?

Thanks for your help - Sorry, to bother you again, I am not a technician!

Would you have any other suggestions?

Shall I try uninstall and reinstall the software again?

    Or something else?

    Thanking you in advance,

    MJB

Cannot load software cd that came with camera

If you do not have the software, you need to download the software from one of the following locations:

Official Canon Drivers and Software

Canon USA:DRIVER & DOWNLOADS

After downloading is finished, unplug the USB and run the software that you downloaded.
The software installer will tell you when to connect USB.

Some Canon device may not be Vista compatible and cannot work on Vista.

Canon IXY 91015 camera

This camera is actually the same model as the Canon Ixus 860 IS, the description is just different due to the location.

http://support-au.canon.com.au/EN/search?canonsearch=1&lang=EN&category=Camera&series=Digital+Compact+Camera&model=DIGITAL+IXUS+860+IS&menu=Manual

This provides you with an option to download the userguide for the Canon IXUS 860 IS and therefore also for IXY 91015
