Trying to remove MB to fix ac connection

I am at the point where The case is just held together by something in the middle of the case. I don't want to force it apart. I am afraid that I might crack something. What would be holding the case together at this point? I would like to remove the top so I can remove the MB to access the broken power connection.

The case is being held by either the wiring that works the screen and any other functions that the top consists of notably a built in web cam for instance. Hope this was helpful

Good Luck =)

Need to remove base on nAXA Model NTD-1354

I needed to do this as well. The round part comes off but the stem does not come out of the TV. I don't mind taking things apart so I removed the screws on the back all around the frame. There are two screws right above all the hookups that you don't have to remove. After removing the screws, carefully separate the two halves. They snap togetther together on the middle of the sides. It takes a little effort to unsnap them I just kept running my fingernails up and down the seam until it popped apart. The screen half come off and is connected with some wires so don't pull it to far apart. At this point you can access the two silver screws that hold the stem in place. Remove the screws and the stem can be removed. Now snap the two halves back together (being careful not to pinch any wires) and re-apply the screws. I saved all the parts for the base in case I needed to put it back together. Last note, opening anything like this may void any warranty.

How do you remove the tab set

You probably have the L. margin set there. Return to that point, press but don't hold the MAR REL key, backspace to desired location, press L. MAR key.

To COPTAB/ GE Microwave WES1450DN1BB
Mine too! I solved it, and hopefully you can too. I hit the clear/off button and held it down for several seconds with the door opened and closed. It cleared it up and it works again, hopefully forever.

Toshiba Laptop not Taking Charge

ya the solder connection connecting the ac power input onto the transformer is probably weak. aside from taking the case apart and resoldering the connection, not much else you can do.

Opening acer aspire 5050

The top and bottom covers are also held together with plactic catches.
After you remove the battery, CD/DVD drive and hard drive etc.
start near an openning and gently pull apart the top and bottom cases, you should hear a click as a catch releases, then continue to work around the edge fron this point.

try looking at the DC input. My brother's 1st laptop had that same problem. All we need to do is solder it. Remember-1st dc connection, not the one on the MB.

Need to fix AC adapter plug in

I'm trying to repair the same thing right now.

to get the case apart, the hangup screws are under the keyboard. to remove the keyboard, you must remove the small plastic (1"x8") strip that has the power button and indicator leds on it.

to remove it, go along the top of the keyboard, closest to the screen, there are 5 plastic tabs to be released, then pop only that side closest to the keyboard up, then, slowly work it around until it comes free. flip the keyboard towards you, and carefully remove its ribbon cable by first popping up the sockets (on the mb) retainer.

then you can get those last screws out and have at it.

peace!

i suspect a possible loose contact between the ribbon connecting the motherboard module to the LCD display module. if you can open up the laptop, check if the both the ends are snug and tight.

Toshiba Satellite Laptop Power Failure (A105-S1013 System Unit)

How handy are you with a digital multimeter? If the laptop is still disassembled, find the solder connections on the motherboard where the mini power cable enters the board from the jack. Plug the AC adapter in. Check to make sure you have the proper DC voltage at those points (should be about 19V, although the AC adapter should say what it's DC output is).

If you don't get any DC voltage (or too low), check the DC plug of the AC adapter. The inside of the plug should be + and the outside should be -. If you are getting voltage there, but not the motherboard, chances are it's the jack or the mini power cable on the motherboard. These can be replaced, it just depends on how confident you are about doing it yourself :).
