Question about HP NW9440 CD2.16 2GB 100GB-17IN COMBO Wireless WXPP Plus 10 off w eBillme PC Notebook
Cyan Ink Cartridge (C4841A)
Yellow Ink Cartridge (C4842A)
Magenta Ink Cartridge (C4843A)
Black Ink Cartridge (C4844A)
First and foremost: Do not ever attempt this unless you accept ALL associated risks.
Second: Never, ever touch the small black primer in the middle of the cartridge unless you are willing to wear the ink, which stains all but permanently.
Third: I will give you the instructions, but advise you to reconsider, and have a pro fill it.
Fourth: Do not fill these cartridges with a "Universal" Ink as no such ink actually exists despite several companies claims. Buy your ink from a reputable refilling business or hire them to do the work. Failure to use the appropriate inks WILL result in crappy printing quality and will likely damage your print heads.
Now, if you're ok with all of the above, go ahead at your own risk.
I will describe the process for the black cartridge, once you're done repeat with the appropriate colour of ink for each of the other three.
You will need: 1 pocket knife, 4 Swine needles with 10-12gauge blunt tip, 1 small set screw or eyelet screw, tape.
Cut the labels on both sides of the bottom cap, then pop it off.
squeeze the two narrow edges of the cartridge with one hand and pull up on the insert with the other. It's a tight fit so this may take a couple tries.
once you have the mylar bag and pump system out of the shell set it gently on a soft surface as the mylar is somewhat delicate.
use the eyelet screw to thead into the small black plug about 3mm, then pull the plug out by tugging on the eyelet screw.
Set this aside and load your needle with ink, the amount you need should be slightly less than the listed volume on the outside shell of the cartridge you're working on.
Insert the tip of the needle 4-5mm inside the filling hole and begin filling slowly, as you aproach 3/4 full tilt the cartridge until the filling hole is on the high side and that corner is facing straight up.
When it gets to the top, retract the needle, reinsert the plug and reverse the eyelet out of the plug. Be sure the plug is all the way in.
Reinsert the mylar and pump section into the shell and recap it, retape the bottom section.
Turn the cartridge so that the other bottom corner is now the high side and allow it to stand for abour 3 hours, continue on to the next cartridge.
When you have completed all four cartridges and allowed them to stand for 3 hours, take them one at a time, insert the needle used for that colour into the ink feed and draw up slightly, pump the primer twice, then draw up again. As long as there is air bubbling up, continue, as soon as you get a short, smooth flow of ink, the cartridge is primed.
Now reposition the cartridges in the printer and you're ready to print.
Clean up any messes you've made with running alcohol as best you can(won't clean perfectly) or with an enzyme based cleaner such as the ones used to clean pet urine(will break down the dyes).
Hope this helps FixYa,

There are ink refill kits on the market and the Internet. Use Google to find refill suppliers.
You can also buy non genuine ink cartridges that are cheaper.
