Question about Samsung Audio Players & Recorders

Dvd turns off after displaying ''protection''

In aux mode the dvd displays the word ''protection'' then truns the unit off. When we turn it back on it stays on for about 5-15 minutes then repeats.
Can you advise a solution or how we can obtain a manual for a Samsung DVD Home theater system HT-X20

Protection error message means that your unit's fan is not working

it is a feature to keep your unit from overheating

check if there is anything blocking the fan of your unit from rotation or replace the fan

PANASONIC SA- HT340 CONTINUESLY SWITCHES ON AND OFF WHEN ON DVD/CD MODE BUT WORKS FINE WHEN ON FM/AUX. THE RED LIGHT STAYS RED AND DOES NOT GO GREEN. ANY IDEAS PLEASE

If all else fails try resetting the unit to the initial factory settings.

While stopped and "DVD/CD" is the source, press and hold [Tune=mode/FM-mode Button] on the main unit and [>=10 Button] on the remote control until "Initialized" disappears from the television. Turn the unit off and on again. All settings will return to the default values.

Check all your cables, connections and speakers. If they are all good, then either there is a fault on the protection circuit or the power amp has a fault on it. If the unit has a fan built into it check that is working. Sometimes the fan can get blocked up.

LG LHT754 is frozen in aux mode. I tried holding down buttons and unplugging and nothing.

Unplug the unit for 60 minutes, when you plug it in hold the power button for 5-10 sec which will do a hard reset. This will reset the processor and hopefully the unit will operate normally.

My stereo says" protect" everytime i turn it on. can't get anything else.

Hello grammagrisbo, hi your Kenwood head units will show "protect" when there's a problem with the speaker outputs so check to see if the impedance load meets your radio, 8ohms or 4 ohms?. having parallel two speakers on a single channel may cause this dilemma. This might also mean a shorted speaker wire, a blown speaker, or an internal defect in the head unit. Once the condition that's causing the "protect" mode is fixed, the CD player should be back to normal, the next time you turn it on.
If it's staying in "protect", then you'll definitely have to remove the stereo and do something to fix it. Many car audio stores will do system troubleshooting, for a fee. If you want to do it yourself, here's what you need to do:

Pull the Kenwood unit from the dash and disconnect all the speaker wires. power it on and see if the "protect" message displays. If it does, the stereo has an internal defect and will need to be serviced. If it doesn't, then turn it off, and re-connect one speaker only. Turn it on again and see if it will displays "protect" message.

If the radio works with one speaker connected, connect the other speaker to the second channel, you may have now the idea where the problem begun, you will identify the speaker that's causing the problem. There may be a wiring problem or defective speaker in that channel.

If it displays "protect" with a single speaker connected, then disconnect that one and try the other one. If all the speakers cause a "protect" mode, then you're probably back to a defective head unit.

The display is damaged. This is how this series dies. In some cases the receiver still works except you can't see the display. Samsung service center can repair it, nobody else.

Once watching a dvd it wont let me change the surround that i want. How do i fix it?

Apparently, the use of the built-in DVD player doesn't allow sound field manipulation; but external sources can be modified. This subject is only discussed in this section of the manual...

"Enjoying audio form an external

You can enjoy audio form an external source through

When ever i turn on my engine which means my kenwood kdc237 shud come on its just flashing protect protect protect no matter wot i press nothig happens need help cant do without music.

If protect is coming up on the display, it means the system is detecting a short somewhere on one of the speakers and so is turning the amp off to avoid damage.
Check all the connections at the back of the amp to ensure they are not shorting, and at the back of each speaker, if nothing is found there, check each wire for damage, or a bare wire touching the body of the car

After 20-30 minutes work in the USB or AUX mode, the unit turns off. At display panel says PROTECTION. After that this problem (when I turn on) repeats after 3-5 minutes.

  • make sure the speakers are plugged in correctly
  • if you tried that already check if your system gets hot when it turns off
  • maybe you need more ventalation on your system...
