- This will be an odd question but can you describe the noise? Is it a whirring or whining sound or a click of some sort?Jun 29, 2009
- a whirr or a whine or even a dull buzz would be from the color wheel motor. There are only two moving parts in this set and the noise likely would be generated from either the fans or the wheel. Take the back off the set and see if you can pinpoint where the sound is coming from. If its near a fan, use your finger to stop the fan and if it goes away, you've found your problem. If the noise seems to be comming from the black housing near the lamp then the color wheel motor is on its way to the grave. If you do indeed find that to be the problem post again and I'll walk you throught the dismantle. Good Luck.Yes
