Question about Linksys Wireless-G WRT54G Router
I don't know if I have att yahoo dsl set up correctly since I have always had slow connection and download/upload with Utorrent. So I tried port forwarding, but I don't think I did it correctly. I don't know if I have my dns server correct for my static ip on my computer or the set up page. If I do have it correct or incorrect how will I know.... Clueless please help me.
If you can get online. Definitely, your DNS server is correct. Meaning that your DNS and your static IP are on the same range. Because if the DNS server is NOT within the same range of your static IP, you will never get online. Slow connection has something to do with either the router settings or your ISP.
Port forwarding is opening a specific port so that you could send/receive messages, so that you could allow other URL. Like https, FTP and other stuff.
If you're connected wirelessly to the router, you may need to check/cnage the wireless channel of the router. And if the Internet is still slow, you may need to verify it with your ISP. Maybe they are doing some settings on their end.
Have a great day!
