I have had my Epic just over 1 year. Have loved it. I am now getting errors "F02" and SUD". I have no kinks or clogs in the hoses. I don't know how to check the "drain pump filter" or I would do that. Anything else? I am in the process of doing a couple of loads with no cloths to "rinse" it out. Need help

We have a He(3) kenmore Elite front load washer. Today I had a small load in it and heard a ticking sound when it was on the wash load. Then it smelled like something was burning. Shortly after that, the F02 error appeared. I checked the drain hoses and they seem fine. I tried to start it again, but it won't do anything.

Any ideas would be very helpful.

    Thanks, Stephanie

After one year of perfect washing, we can't go through one cycle without SUDS or F02 errors. I checked the drain hose, the relative position of the hose to the outlet, washing without detergent, unplugging the unit. Apparently someone has found a solution. Please help....

Kenmore Elite HE 3t posts a f 02 error, which is a drain obstruction error. The drain hose has been checked so we assumed the pump was the problem. ran the test cycle and pump worked fine. not sure the pump is the real problem, so waited 1 1/2 hours and the washer drained and spin fine. tryed to use is again and same error appeared. What is it?

I had same problem. Turns out there is a filter for the drain pump on this machine, not mentioned in the user manual. Take off the toe plate (the lower panel on the front). There are three screws. (These screws are not normal heads - you will need a Torx driver, either a T-20 or T-25, from any hardware store, plus a holder). The screws are on the very lowest part of the toe plate. When you get the toe plate off, you will see in the middle a round white plastic cover, which you can twist to the left and remove. Some water will flow out when you do this that has been trapped behind the unbelievable gunk that has been building up there since you did your first wash. Might find something you thought you had lost, in fact. Clean that out and put it back and you should be set!

Whirlpool duet flashes F 02

The f02 error code is caused when the unit control thinks there is still water in the tub after it has tried to drain. If the washer is full of soap suds it will also display an f02 error code. You will need to use only name brand HE detergent. If your washer is not draining the water out you will need to clean the pump filter. I have provided the instructions below. Run the washer in a drain and spin to ensure the pump is running. If the washer has no water and no suds the problem will be either the pressure switch or a plugged pressure hose. To check the pressure hose you will need to remove the top and remove the hose from the pressure switch. Ensure the hose is clear by blowing into it. If the hose is clear I recommend replacing the pressure switch.

F02 problem. Took drain hose and cleaned that out but it didnt help. Is there another spot to clean out?

if the pressure switch detects either water or suds, it commands the drain pump to continue. After 8 or so minutes, if it's still detecting water or suds, the F02 error is displayed.

try the following :
1. Check Wire Harness connections -
2. Check Drain pump. , as water drains at a rapid rate
3. Check Drain pump motor - , as water drains at a rapid rate
4. Check that the Drain hose and Drain Pump Filter is clear of
foreign objects. – , run a cable through both hose assemblies (exterior and interior) and to check if blocked.
5. Check the CCU –.
6. check for kinks in the hoses, and the height of the pump if beyond what the manual recommends.

if okay then check the Pressure Switch if stuck then run many Rinse and Normal cycles with no detergent and if you still get this F02 error. checked the state of the Pressure Switch’s Empty and Level 1 contacts which intermittently reported correct water level condition (EMPTY and Level 1). In all cases is contacts 11 and 14 (SUDS) continuously made (connected) irrespective of water level, rinse conditions and the use of no detergent.

Iremove the pressure switch and test it by blowing into the inlet and check to hear the switch click, test the switch
blew into the pressure switch hose to clear the blockage,

I have a Kenomore Elite HE4t Washer. I am getting an F02 error message. I've tried to rerun washer & get SUDS on and off. Fo2 message appears again and cycle shuts down. Door will not unlock. Any...

HI. this code represents a Long Drain issue.

If the drain time exceeds 8 minutes, the water valves are turned off and F02 is flashed.

Press PAUSE/CANCEL twice to clear the display.

NOTE: After 4 minutes the “Sud” error will be displayed, then 4 minutes later the F02 error code will be displayed.

Potential Causes

• Check the drain hose and make sure it is not plugged or kinked
• Check the electrical connections at the pump and make sure the pump is running.
• Check the drain pump filter for foreign objects
• If the above does not correct the problem replace the pump

F02 fault on a hot point washer says motor jammed

Hi,

I suspected suds build up, so I tried both regular wash cycles (e.g. Normal) and Rinse and Drain cycles multiple times to clear suds in the system, but still received the F02 error. Sometimes the SUD error message came up, but not consistently.

I ran the built-in Diagnostics tests. It made it to C:06 then got stuck.

In both scenarios above, the washing machine continued to try to pump water out, despite the fact that all the water had already been drained. After 8 or so minutes, the F02 error came on. As I understand it, if the pressure switch detects either water or suds, it commands the drain pump to continue. After 8 or so minutes, if it's still detecting water or suds, the F02 error is displayed.

I performed the following with no success:
1. Check Wire Harness connections - OK
2. Check Drain pump. – OK, as water drains at a rapid rate
3. Check Drain pump motor - OK, as water drains at a rapid rate
4. Check that the Drain hose and Drain Pump Filter is clear of
foreign objects. – OK, ran a cable through both hose assemblies (exterior and interior) and not blocked.
5. Check the CCU – appears to function normally.
6. There were no kinks in the hoses, nor was the height of the pump beyond what the manual recommends.

After more diagnostics and troubleshooting, I found that the Pressure Switch was stuck and reported the SUDS state (continuity made between contacts 11 and 14 on the Pressure Switch itself). I ran many Rinse and Normal cycles with no detergent and still got this F02 error. I checked the state of the Pressure Switch’s Empty and Level 1 contacts which intermittently reported the correct water level condition (EMPTY and Level 1). In all cases contacts 11 and 14 (SUDS) were continuously made (connected) irrespective of water level, rinse conditions and the use of no detergent.

I removed the pressure switch and tested it by blowing into the inlet and did hear the switch click, so it seemed to work properly. Given the diagnostics above, I concluded that the pressure switch hose must have been clogged.

Good Luck!!

Thanks
