The clicking sound you can hear is the relay or clixon as sometimes it is known by trying to start the compressor it may be stuck, first turn off the power to the refridgerator then turn the fridge so that you can see the motor,on the side of the motor you will see a small plastic cover remove it to expose the relaly remove it by pulling it towards you exposing 3 pins in a triangle shape give it a shake to free the solenoid inside the relay relace in the same way you took it off power up the fridge listen to see if you can hear the motor run constanly if it just starts and then goes of its more than likely the compressor is us

Hi, If the clicking sound is coming from the back side under the fridge, it is most likely the relay on the compressor. Is this unit under five years old? Might still have warranty on compressor.
It is possibly the relay overload and/or capacitor. This is getting to be common problem with the newer models.
Please let me know if I can assist you further.

Neither the refrigerator nor the freezer side is cooling properly. Lights work in fridge. Sounds like compressor is running.

listen for the sound of a hum and a click in back of the refrigerator. If you hear the sounds your compressor has failed.

I also have the same refrigerator model 106.56566400 and periodically when the power goes off in the house the refrigerator & freezer will stop cooling. Try pushing the on/off button located inside the refrigerator to the left of the digital temperature controls. Hold the button down, this turns the unit off, then press it again to turn it back on. This basically resets the refrigerator, and most of the time works to get the refrigerator cooling again. Try this first before calling a repair man.
