Question about Kensington PilotBoard 64379

1 Answer

I obtained a used Kensington 64379 wireless keyboard. I plug the circular pad with USB cord into my PC. I can't get the keyboard to do anything, or even indicate it's connected.

I guess I wasn't told there was software involved. Is it easy to identify which driver I need? The keyboard itself hasn't actually been used with this PC, other than plugging in the USB plug attached to the round (RF device?).

Did you install the software first? Try plugging it in to another USB port.

Go to the kensington website and search for the keyboard using the same model number you gave me. Download the driver for your operating system.

Usb receiver broke on my kensington pilotboard desktop set, any ideas

You can contact Kensington's customer service and see whether they will ship you a replacement. As an alternative, you could buy another Kensington Wireless Pilot Board mouse and use its receiver. As a third alternative, you could buy another Kensington wireless mouse or keyboard and see whether the receiver for that will pick up the Pilot Board keyboard. Finally, you could buy another wireless mouse or keyboard (not Bluetooth) and see whether its receiver will pick up the Pilot Board.

My keyboard is stuck in spannish language

Sorry to be a pedant but it's not your keyboard that's stuck in Spanish but the operating system language bar. You can change the set up by going into your operating systems control panel e.g. in Vista you need to go to the control panel and adjust the settings in the Regional and language area.

I successfully installed the driver for the Kensington pocket mouse on my S7 notebook, but I cannot activate it to take over the job of the touch pad.

Wireless Installation

Plug in the receiver to your usb port. Install batteries to mouse.

To establish a wireless connection, press the connect

button on the end of the receiver. Then, press the

connect button on the bottom of the mouse.

Click a button on the mouse to go..

Repeat this procedure when replacing the batteries.

IMPORTANT: This wireless device is similar to an FM radio, by

adjusting the antenna you can get better reception. You may

also want to experiment with different locations and positions

of the receiver.

The little light on the receiver should light up and flash fast untill it sees the mouse signal.
