Question about Heating & Cooling
My Honeywell ct8775c thermostat has a peculiar problem. When I set the AC temp for the room, it turns on okay and runs the AC. However, the room temp number goes up while the room gets cooler. For example, if the room temp reads 77, I set the AC to 75 and the AC runs. The room gets cooler but the temp on the thermostat now reads 80. Its not 80 in the room, but that's what the thermostat reads. If I turn off the AC, the temp reading will come back down as the room heats up. Heat works fine (i.e. no problems with temperature readings).
Personally i'd just replace the thermostat, but try pulling the front panel off and look on the circuit board and see if there is a jumper for F/C or any other settings. you may try changing its position. you can also remove the batteries for 15 minutes and see if it resets itself. the only other thing it could be is a wiring issue.
