Re: Lock light wont turn off
Hello shon95m, Glad to hear you did some troubleshooting on the first go around of your issue, we need to do some more.I haven’t experienced this issue but will troubleshoot with you if you can tolerate the down time.I will be doing this from the schematic of the machine. In this condition with the Locked LED lit are the Lid Locks actuated not releasing the lid to open?I know you know how to release the washer top from the washer base. Can you get into Service Mode in this failure condition? First I would try the first two bullet points on page 13 of the SM for Will Not Unlock.I think you may have it, if not here are a couple of links to support troubleshooting efforts;Service Manual for reference. Sears Parts Direct for reference. If that produces no results I would next pull the right lid lock off and leave it off it’s not necessary for normal washer operation and we need to reduce the failure points for fault isolation causing the lid lock circuit to remain lit. Pull washer power plug first then pull the right lid lock off and leave it off. With the right lid lock plug pulled power up the machine does the Locked LED remain lit? Repeat the step for the left lid lock after machine power up dose the Locked LED remain lit? The “Lid Is Locked” inputs to the control board are in parallel from the left and right lid locks. From the schematic it looks like when the lid is locked +12VDC is connected thru the left and right lid locks to the input of the control board via Pin 8 of connector P3 marked on the schematic as “Lid Is Locked” input to the control board. From the schematic it looks to me that +12VDC signals the control board that the lid has successfully locked. So what is causing the Lock LED on the console? If it’s not caused by +12VDC switched to the input of the control board marked “Lid is Locked” from the left lid lock then I feel the control board has failed at component level causing this issue, but that is a WAG right now.The SM also speaks to a possible Motor Controller board as a possible fail point. If the Lock LED goes out when we pull the plug on the left lid lock then we need to open up that left lid lock and inspect for a possible corrosion paths at the plug or the left lid lock.See pic below of some nasty corrosion that can cause issues with the left lid lock assembly. Maybe we can get some other forum members to offer some additional support.I will continue to help until I hit a brick wall in troubleshooting or you need to move on.Rich

Your washer lid lock button is locked and lid was not put down before it locked, which is why the light is flashing. Therefore, push the "START" button until you see the lid lock button is off (Approx 3 seconds). Once it is off, then you can put the lid down and push the start button again, which will lock the lid into place. The washer will NOT drain or wash or spin unless the lid itself is in the locked position. If you were able to get the lid down and locked and it still doesn't work, then you need a technician to replace a wiring harness. However, you mentioned that the lid lock button was flashing, therefore, it stands to reason that your lid is NOT locked down.
Typically what happens is the lock cylinder falls apart and jams inside of its housing. The good news is the key needs to be in the run position in order to remove the lock cylinder. Once the steering wheel covers are removed you will see a small hole in the hosting the lock cylinder fits into. Place a small screwdriver or pick into that hole and push. This will release the locking tab that holds the lock cylinder in place. Pull out on the lock cylinder and it should pop out. A replacement can be found at your local parts store or dealer?
Turn program selector to "off". Turn
selector to Drain or Spin. Press the start / pause. Wait until program ends. Open door. OR Press "start / pause" until the start /
pause light flashes.
First, unplug the machine and turn off the water supply. On the lower
right of the front panel is a 6" / 15mm cover. Near the bottom of this cover
is a small hole. Insert a piece of wire into this hole, and push in gently.
While pushing, turn the cover clockwise,
it will came off. The door release is a narrow white plastic strip
hanging down on the right; Pull down on this strip while pushing in on the
door, the door lock will release.
Your door lock assembly has gone bad. You'll need to get your model # and go to either www.apdepot.com or www.repairclinic.com or your local parts supply to pick up. To start the repair you'll need to lift the top up by taking the two metal clips, one on each side, and then pulling the top forward. Once that is done lift top and you'll be able to locate the lock located in the front. Once you find the lock follow the wires back and you'll see that they go back and then upwards. Set the top back down and then remove the back of the control panel, which are 1/4 screws I believe. Located the wires from the lid lock switch and see where they connect on the control board , from behind, it shoould be on your left side close to you. Disconnect the wires and now you can remove the lock safely. Install new lock and put the machine back together;
IGNITION SWITCH AND LOCK CYLINDER BROKEN. YOU NEED TO TURN OFF RADIO THEN DISCONNECT NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE WAIT 20 MINUTES UNTIL AIRBAGS DISCHARGE THEN LOWER STEERING COLUMN DONT LET COLUMN ROTATE DAMAGE SIR COIL.YOU NEED TO REMOVE 2 TORX SCREWS FROM UPPER SHROUD.LIFT UPPER SHROUD FOR ACCESS TO THE LOCK CYLINDER.HOLD KEY IN THE START POSITION AND USE A 1/16 INCH ALLEN WRENCH TO PUSH ON THE LOCK CYLINDER RETAINING PIN.RELEASE THE KEY TO THE RUN POSITION AND PULL THE STEERING COLUMN LOCK CYLINDER SET FROM THE MODULE ASSEMBLY.REMOVE THE UPPER SHROUD. THEN INSTALL THE UPPER SHROUD AND NEW LOCKCYLINDER WITH THE KEY INSTALLED TO THE LOCK CYLINDER AND TURN TO THE RUN POSITION MAKE SURE SECTOR IN THE LOCK MODULE IS ALSO IN THIS POSITION. INSTALL THE LOCK CYLINDER TO THE UPPER SHROUD THEN ALIGN THE LOCKING TAB AND POSITIONING TAB WUTH THE SLOTS IN THE LOCK MODULE ASSEMBLY WITH THE TABS ALIGNED CAREFULLY PUSH THE CYLINDER INTO POSITION. INSTALL THE UPPER SHROUD TORX HEAD RETAINING SCREWS AND TORQUE TO 12 INCH POUNDS. INSTALL THE LOWER SHROUD MAKING SURE THE SLOTS ON THE SHROUD ENGAGE WITH THE UPPER SHROUD TABS TILT THE LOWER SHROUD UPWARD AND SNAP THE SHROUDS TOGETHER. INSTALL 2 LOWER SHROUD PAN HEAD RETAINING SCREWS AND TORQUE TO 53 INCH LBS. MOVE THE SHIFT AND MULTIFUNCTION LEVER SEALS INTO POSITION THEN IF REMOVED INSTALL THE TILT LEVER BY ALIGNING AND PUSHING INWARD.POSITION THE SECURE THE STEERING COLUMN. PROPERLY ENABLE THE AIRBAGS SYSTEM BY RECONNECTING NEGATIVE BATTERY WAIT 5 MINUTES BEFORE STARTING VECHICLE AIRBAGS LIGHT WILL TURN OFF AFTER FEW SECONDS WHILE ENGINE RUNNING WHEN YOU FIRST START ENGINE.
Does the red light on the remote light up when you push any of the button if no, replace remote if yes, then try repograming the remote to the car again. -Have remotes' ready. if you have two then fob#1 and fob#2 (doesn't matter which one is #1 or #2) -each step has to be done within 5 sec or it will not work, but don't do it super fast. 1.turn key just to the "on" position (not starting) and push "lock button " on fob#1 once and release 2.turn key off 3.turn key just to the "on" position (not starting)and push "lock button " on fob#1 once and release 4.turn key off 5.turn key just to the "on" position (not starting)and push "lock button " on fob#1 once and release 6turn key off 7.turn key just to the "on" position (not starting) and push "lock button " on fob#1 twice (if you only have one fob, then stop here and go to step 8)and push the "lock button" on fob#2 twice. 8.turn key off and remove key from ignition. if you did it right, remotes' should work again. good luck
First thing, does the red light on the remote light up when you push any of the button
if no, then replace battery inside remote
if yes, then try repograming the remote to the car again.
-Have both remote ready. fob#1 and fob#2 (doesn't matter which one is #1 or #2)
-each step has to be done within 5 sec or it will not work, but don't do it super fast.
1.turn key just to the "on" position (not starting) and push "lock button " on fob#1 once and release
2.turn key off
3.turn key just to the "on" position (not starting)and push "lock button " on fob#1 once and release
4.turn key off
5.turn key just to the "on" position (not starting)and push "lock button " on fob#1 once and release
6turn key off
7.turn key just to the "on" position (not starting) and push "lock button " on fob#1 twice (if you only have one fob, then stop here and go to step 7)and push the "lock button" on fob#2 twice.
8.turn key off and remove key from ignition.
if you did it right, remotes should work again.
Doesn't your unit have a lock light in addition to an on light? On mine when you start the machine a red light comes on, then after a minute or two the lock light above it comes on. Once the lock light lights, the machine shouldn't stop. If only the initial light comes on, the door isn't locking. As a result, as the drum moves the clothes and they push against the unlocked door, it turns the machine off. You might need to check/tighten the door latch. Also check the door wax motor/door lock assembly.
Push the heated/dry button on the dishwasher for 4 seconds and that will unlock the dishwasher.
This is just a safety feature that allows you to lock the dishwasher to stop kids from pushing buttons. If that doesn’t’ work they will send out a tech to fix it.
