The picture is very dark on my Philips PC camera SIC4750/27

I have all the lights on and even a lamp on behind the camera and the picture is still dark. Do I need to change a setting? If so, how? Thanks!

What operating system on the computer?
Windows or Mac?
XP or Vista?
Brand of webcam?

If you are using Win XP or Vista, goto Start, All programs, look for the Brand of webcam you are using.
Click on the program, there should be a set up window somewhere for adjusting the light levels.

Dark picture..not bright picture

The whole point of a webcam is to be able to see the person you are speaking with, and let them see you. When the image broadcasted by your camera is too dark, the person on the viewing end won't see anything but shadows and dark shapes. Learn how to brighten your webcam image so the people you chat with can see you.

Place lamps behind and to the side of the webcam. This casts a light on your face, but the lamps will not wash out the image because they are behind the camera. Turn off lamps that are behind you. You have trouble seeing things when you are looking in the direction of the sun or a light bulb. Your webcam has the same problems. Don't make it stare at a bright light. Open up a white screen on your computer to brighten your face. The white screen will create the brightest possible light from you computer screen and help lighten your webcam image. This option is best when lamps are not available. Open up an empty tab in your Internet browser, or a blank Notepad document, and expand it to the full of your screen. Adjust your webcam settings. The settings available to you will depend on your webcam, but many of them offer a "Brightness" setting that you can increase to lighten your webcam. Open the program that came with your webcam, then look for a "Settings" or "Options" menu. Increase the "Brightness" setting until it has lightened your webcam enough.

I have a philips 60pl9200d/37 the picture is fairly dark even though I've turned the brightness all the way up

The lamp can cause a dark picture if it is defective. There is an access door to the lamp. Take the lamp out and inspect it. Especially at the bottom of the center stem where you may see a bubbling of the glass. If so it is bad for sure. Other problem could be in the main board. For good price on lamp with housing go to pureglare.com and enter the model number.

Change to another camera. The problem is in your cameras ccd chip. The sensibility of that chip in your camera is not strange enough to sens the light and create the picture.
I hope you have a normal light source not a night lamp or a torch or so...

Our philips dlp tv was getting a dark picture then today no picture but sound then the whole tv shut off and will not come back on do we need to replace the lamp?

Definately sounds like a bad lamp. A lot of times you can look down in the lamp and the filament will be broken or busted up. That would tell you for sure, but even if it is not visibly bad, I would definately try replacing the lamp first. I've changed many of them at our shop, and your description is definately a common symptom of a bad lamp in any dlp.

The picture is too dark from logitec classic cam

hi i had the same problem with mine, this can be overcome by an external light source ie, a lamp or a brighter room light, make sure that it is not facing towards a window like having the window behind you as this will then set off the light reduction setting in the camera, but light coming from behind the camera is better...hope this helps

Sounds like you may have the wrong lamp. Make sure you purchased a Philips lamp that's 100% compatible with your television model. Philips pioneered that lamp, so naturally they make 100 different types for DLPs and LCD projections.

You may have an elliptical lamp instead of parabolic. The lamp for your TV should read P22h.

Darker screen after replacing a samsung dlp lamp

DID YOU USE THE FOLLOWING LAMP
BP96-00826A (PHILIPS WRITTEN ON THE LAMP)? ALSO PLEASE CHECK THAT THE LAMP IS COMPLETELY SEATED OR IT WILL RESULT IN BRIGHTNESS ISSUES. THERE WAS ONE THAT I REPLACED THE LAMP IN AND I NOTICED THAT THE DIAL OPENING ON THE LAMP HOUSING WAS A BIT SMALL AND WOULD NOT ALLOW THE COMPLETE SEATING OF THE LAMP AND I HAD A DARK PICTURE AS A RESULT. I USED MY CORDLESS DRILL WITH THE PHILIPS HEAD STILL ATTACHED AND REAMED THE HOLE LARGER AND IT SOLVED THE PROBLEM.
HOPE THIS HELPS.
