Computer turns itself off and on..

Today, my computer had a mind of it's own...this morining, i would turn it on then like 2 seconds later it turned off.  I kept trying and it finally stayed on and worked fine. I later turned it off when i was done. this evening when i got home i was sitting on my bed and it would (by itself) turn on then right off repeatedly. i didn't bother with it for a while but then when i wanted to get on it i tried and it did the same thing it did that morning. then all of a sudden, when i pressed the button - nothing. it wont even do it by itself anymore. but when i unplug it, then plug it back in it comes on then shuts off right after. i have no clue what to do. i honestly don't know anything about far as hardware/software etc. problems go. i'm clueless. the button would stick a little but i took the front cover off, and now i know that has nothing to do with it.

please and thank you!

Could you try another wall socket, as this can be a problem. Another thing can be overheated computer, so please make sure there is enough space behind it to make the fan work properly. and keep the system cool. Also the Power Supplie can be faulty or not powerfull enough. Have you added recently anything to you PC, like new hard drive or DVD drive etc?

Our air conditioner came on by itself this morning. we have been unable to turn it off all day and we are still unable to turn it off. we did however have a wee bit of luck this evening, when we pushed the...

Please check the auto programmed ON/OFF on your remote commander. May be the auto programming is running that run your air conditioner all time without stop. Check also your temperature setting. To hard reset your remote , remove the battery and wait for 1 hour and replace the battery. If your remote has reset button just go has it reset.

E machine monitor turns itself off and on

The same thing happened to me today. I was just sitting in my room then i hear a click and the cpu is on it stays on for a while then cuts off. It then cuts on and off with few seconds in between. It then stays in that way cutting and off for about a minite or two and then cuts off completely. A few minutes later it starts again. Also in the time it its off it will not turn on by pressing the power button. Sometimes it completly boots up by itself and then shuts itself down. If I shut it down manually while its on it'll turn itself on immeditaly after. What's going on! Will the warranty cover it? Do I need a new computer?

TV turns on, then turns itself off about 2 seconds later.

set has a self diagnostic---after set does shut down press and hold MENU AND DEVICE(INPUT) buttons on front of set for 5 seconds----if 2 blinks, a pause and 2 more blinks: this is short protection error code---The set does use 2 Stk394-250 and each is protected by a pico fuse in the power supply---if either fuse is blown the set will shut down(it detects no voltage or missing voltage;) It is not uncommon for a shorted IC to cause this problem; if you locate the STK's look carefully at the resistors around them---if any are discolored or burnt---you have found your problem.

When i open the gallery, phone shuts down

what has happend is that the phone has detected a virus, like if you have ever used the wire that came in the box to connect to your computer to charge or to create mass storage and the computer has an undetected virus that can get into the phone via the wire, so what i recomend you do is that you scan your computer for undetected viruses, and also restore factory settings on your phone turn it of for 30 seconds turn it on and try again, if this does not work contact your service provider or LG themselves and treat the situation from there.

A95 PowerShot turns on and off until batteries die.

Sounds like you have a stuck power button or shorted power switch. To repair you'll need to remove the top cover. Please see the following disassembly guide. It's in Estonian, but you can follow the pictures.

Continue to page 2, paying particular attention to the second and third picture. It looks like the power switch is connected to the camera through a simple ribbon cable. I'd suggest removing the ribbon cable end from its connector, cleaning any obvious crud, and then reseating the ribbon cable end into its connector. Ribbon cables are notorius for suddenly shorting or getting a bad connection at the connector. Usually just jiggling the cable can fix it too :-) Good luck!

By the way, were you the person that left a similar comment on my blog?
