Ok, right now im using a NVIDIA Graphics card with my ACER AL1714 LCD Monitor, The problem appears when  i set the Gamma, Contrast & Bright on the monitor and on the NFORCE Software settings to reduce the brightness and the image adjusts a little but stills too bright (the black color never appears, it seems light gray).... It's my monitor doomed?.... i understand something about electronics, so i think maybe I can modify the power source of the inverter with some kind of resistor or potentiometer, or maybe a power transistor replacement with less capacity to reduce the white backlight.... All of this sound too radical, so i think if it is another way to fix the problem.... Can you help me with this? Thanks....

Yes, I just put in my problem with grey characters instead of black. I didn't know if it was a driver (software problem) or hardware problem.
