Question about SanDisk Memory Media

Computer doesn't recogize my SanDisk 2GB Memory Card

So, I have a card reader on my computer that allows me to use cards that aren't formatted, but when I tried to pull pictures off my brand new 2GB SD Memory Card - it's not recognizing it. It also doesn't see it on my husbands computer that has the card reader in the computer.

I've made sure it's not locked, so I'm not sure what my issue is. Unfortunately - I have about 100 pictures on it, I'm afraid I might have to delete them to get my computer to recognize the card - any advice for me?

Thanks!

I just bought a PNY micro sd memory card .When I put it in my card reader on my laptop it is not recognize that it was inserted. It is not locked. I have tried a different brand and my computer recognizes it.. so why doesn't it recognize a brand new card. I actually had bought one and it wasn't showing up so I took it back and got a different one.. and still it does not show up. Do you know how to get my computer to recognize when a memory card has been inserted?

My 256 MB disk shows that it's full on my Canon 10D; however, my Mac shows only one item(picture) on the disk. The Mac also shows only 888 kb of available memory, so it's consistent with my camera's reading. I just can't see what's filling the disk. Help!

You could try downloading directly from the camera, using the appropriate USB lead, if the camera can see it it should be able to download via cable.

I have a sandisk 2gb micro sd card. I put it into my computer's card reader and it keeps saying it needs to be formatted. When I try to format it it says windows was unable to complete the format. I am...

> unable to complete the format.

The FORMAT process is trying to write data to the card, but that writing is NOT successful,
i.e., the memory on the card is damaged/defective, and so it "fails".

Responsibly recycle the card, and purchase a replacement memory-card.

Put the memory card back into your computer or card reader and open My Computer. Right click on the card once it is recognized and choose format. When the format box comes up, look at the capacity. It should show around 1.89GB on a 2GB card. If it shows zero, your card could be bad.

My card is corrupted

Hello,

insert the card into a memory card reader and insert it into our computer's USB port. The computer will recognize and install the card reader.

After that, go to Start > My computer. You will find a drive representing the memory card reader. The drive might be E:, F;, or G;.

Right click on the drive, scroll to format, and allow the card be formatted.

Once it has successfully been formatted, it should be in order again.

Note that all the files on the card would be erased. There is even no point keeping such files because it mush have bee corrupted as well, since it is still in the card.

Good luck.

If this memory card will be connected to a camera you can simply put the memory card to the camera and there you can format it using the camera's menu, you can also format this memory card using a card reader that will be connected to your computer, just put the memory to a card reader then connect it to the computer that way you can also format the memory card....

How do u format sandisk microsd 2gb and microsdhc 4gb disks

You can only form sd Hc if your card reader is approved for SDHC use. It should tell you that on the outside of the card reader or in the documentation of the card reader.

If your drive isn't formatting 2gb, it could be that the driver was designed prior to 2gb cards being released. You could look for a new driver or replace it with a card reader that supports SD HC use as will as a 2 gb SD drive.
