How do I change the lid switch on a whirlpool ultimate care II washing machine? how do i open the top of washer to replace the lid switch

Remove the screws on the control panel
pull the panel forward to unseat it then under it pop the clips that hold the top to the back of the washer the rest is self explanitive

Check your lid switch, you should hear a click when you open and close the lid. If you don't hear a click, replace the switch.

My Whirlpool washer (Ultimate Care II) stops at


This is probally the lid switch. You can check this by checking for continuity. You should have none with switch open and some continuity when switch is closed if yours has continuity when opened you will need to replace. There is a video at www.appliancehelponline.com/servicemanual.html that can walk you thru the replacement.

Our ultimate care ii is not working properly. it


the lid switch is broken,open and close the lid if you don't hear a click that's a sure sign the lid switch is broke,try sticking a pen or something in where the switch is you might get it to spin and drain but you gotta change out the lid switch

lid switch is bad chance are you can by pass this by removing the timer header and crossing the outer wire on the lid switch that it mounted closest to the lid not the power cord this will tell you if you need a switch
