Question about Dell Dimension E510 Dual Core 2.8 Ghz (847403171179) PC Desktop
I have the serivce tag and supposedly this converts to Express service code they say the yneed this to give a disk. They are giving me the righteous run around because I am not the original owner of the computer.
Any one know how to convert
LOOK AT THE BACK PANEL OF YOUR SYSTEM WHERE WE HOOK UP ALL THE CABLES... THERE WOULD BE 2 WHITE BAR-CODED STICKERS ONE OF THEM HAVE THE WINDOWS OPERATING SYSTEM PRODUCT KEY AND OTHER ONE WOULD HAVE YOUR DELL SYSTEM'S SERVICE TAG AND EXPRESS SERVICE CODE...
If DELL says that they won't provide you the support if the system is under warranty just because of the service tag then juss get this information
1) who bought the system from DELL i.e. on whose name it was registered??
2) The SHIPPING ADDRESS which was given when the system was bought...
If u didn't bought this from dell but fro somebody else then
10 Get his Full Name?
2) His address where he was residing when he bought the system??
3) Any Documents Bill/Shipping Paper/Billing Paper?
Get these information it would really help..
Otherwise Visit this link and fill in few details and get the OWNERSHIP TRANSFER done on you name..

Tips for a great answer:
Each Dell Inspiron has a master password that clears the BIOS password. Call Dell Technical Support at (800)624-9896 to get this number.
Dell Technical Support will request the Service Tag and Express Service Code from the bottom of the Inspiron.
If the current user is not the original Inspiron owner, Dell will transfer the used Inspiron's registration from the original owner with only the Service Tag and Express Service Code from the tag on the laptop.
To transfer a used Dell Inspiron's registration, fill out the Transfer of Ownership form on Dell's web site. See... http://www.tech-faq.com/reset-dell-bios-password.html
